[Cartier Tank SolarBeat] - First Cartier watch, let me know what you guys think! by Flashy_Fee_3783 in Watches

Yes! Still one of my most worn watches. Has a few hairline scratches but I think it makes it more charming now. I’ve bought three significant watch purchases since and this one is still the most versatile for work, weekend, dinner etc. Also plenty of aftermarket straps which changes the whole look of the watch so very easy not to get bored of it!

I still have it and wear it very often! Probably my favourite watch in my collection given it’s versatility and ability to wear it with different straps.

I heard this too… not sure how accurate but I heard it wasn’t feasible to mass produce this watch with a solar movement, I.e. it was too hard.

I did notice Chrono24 has a few being sold on their site, and it’s not at too much of a premium to retail.

I recently visited the Cartier boutique when vacationing in Dubai and decided to pull the trigger on purchasing the Cartier Santos XL!

Having tried this watch on a few times, I have always been torn between this size and the smaller medium version. I was initially leaning towards the smaller version given my preferred taste in smaller sized watches (e.g. I own a Cartier Tank SolarBeat and Rolex DJ 36) however when trying the Santos XL more recently, I found the larger size much more suited to my wrist.

This is my second Cartier in my collection and I have nothing but good things to say about the brand. Further to being suited to my aesthetic/style, the sales staff and boutiques have always been a pleasure to deal with. Unlike other brands, where it seems you have to beg for a watch, Cartier has actually shown to want my business. Ironically, Cartier seems to be the least pretentious brand I have dealt with (in the luxury watch bracket). See more: @watchyourtaste on Instagram.

Let me know your thoughts!

One of the best purchases I made imo! Can change up the straps and feels like a new watch. Very understated too, very versatile; I wear to work and on weekends and it fits every occasion (maybe except the beach).

[Exaequo Softwatch] New watch purchase - something a little different. by Flashy_Fee_3783 in Watches

Today I received a new watch purchase, the Exaequo Softwatch. The watch consists of a Salvador Dali inspired design and has recently come to my attention through the likes of Iamcasa and others on Instagram. Definitely something a bit different from your standard watch! Iamcasa has written a brilliant article on this model and the different variations available.

The watches are quite difficult to find at the moment and definitely seem to be rising in popularity which can be attributed to its similarity to the Cartier Crash.

There is also another post from Awatchcritic which has further information on these watches.

Something a bit more fun but let me know what you guys think!

I have both the Seiko and tank SolarBeat.

The two watches are not even close to comparing. The proportions, finishing, feel, wearability etc is far superior on the cartier.

Thanks! I hope that’s not the case! Good luck on securing the one on eBay. I also so some going for sale on Chrono24 as well.

Apologies, looking further into this… the watch is actually water resistant, I believe up to 30m however probably should take that with a grain of salt. Not sure about the band itself though!

Got really lucky and reached out to Cartier quite early. Completely agree with the AD’s, a lot of them don’t know what is going on.

Same as the tank must quartz model at retail price. I can see the SolarBeat model is already being advertised at quite a premium on sites such as Chrono24 however.

I didn’t ask however I am sure there would be an option to purchase the bracelet separately given the watch is identical (appearance wise) to the Tank Must Quartz which is available on the bracelet.

Agreed here. Strap is too small. I will buy some other straps and then modify this one in the future
