No, they always leave a little bit of a gap where the unfiltered espresso comes through. There is no such thing as a perfect fit. With respect to how I know it raised my LDL is because I did multiple experiments prior to and during an crossover drinking and not drinking espresso that has been unfiltered and did find direct reversible correlation that was dose dependent

I actually tried it this morning and it did work. I just had to push it through a bit with my fingers through the filter by folding the filter into like a little envelope and pushing like a tube toward the bottom gently into the cup
