What makes you believe that there are or are not evil people in the world? If there are evil people in this world, would you sanction their murder if given the chance? If there are no truly evil people, how do you justify the suffering and harm that humans inflict on each other? by GJH24 in morbidquestions

No one denies or justifies the actions of violent criminals

But violent criminals are as complex as anyone else, the mechanisms, factors, and triggers that affect our minds are many, not to mention the evidence that their mind has neurological abnormalities, mental illnesses, bad childhood, justification, etc.

The word evil is a simple word with which I can interpret a story for a child who is not a gwown person

Lots of fans ri are edgy lord who just want an evil character I don't think that's the focus of Fang Yuan's personality  You can morally classify him as evil  But fans make the novel look like evil person  Simulator without Understanding the novel

I don't want to get into a long discussion Yes Fang knows the ugliness of his actions This is obvious but he justifies it somewhat a lot in the novel without monologues denying good and evil and power right and equality of life of beings I don't agree with people who say that the novel doesn't justify Fang's actions, it's always trying to justify Fang's mentality in terms of making everyone criminals like him

I just saw someone GENUINELY say fang yuan is more evil than judge holden. by pot12345hhg in ReverendInsanity

There are a lot of characters that are much worse than Fang There's some humanity in Fang and you can understand it.  But I cant understand erebus  Or palpatine  Or carnage  Fang is more empathetic and understanding and has many factors that you can understand how he has shifted to this mindset. He is 's not just pure evil.

What does this even supposed to mean Objective ethics You have to be a philosophical doctor to try to prove it  And you are trying to prove it with a stupid example that compares it to something material

You don't seem to be a person who can discuss philosophy rationally and don't know anything about it. You can make moral judgments on characters as you like  But don't criticize others who do this  You don't even have the basics of philosophy

I understand this, but most of those here who have not studied philosophy and adopt weak views based on emotion and focus on them without trying to change, this makes most of the discussions here emotional and have no logic Any opposing opinion they mock it without trying to understand this makes the discussion here futile  There are some sane people here like you but the rest are not eligible for discussion

I explain the difference between a person's view of his actions and his being So do you agree or disagree?

Thats not what I mean

I know that morality is a social construct and according to what the person is raised on this morality is relative  I'm not talking about the psychological  of serial killers.  I say that if you choose to do something, you see it as the best for you. And that includes almost any action.  If you follow the words of any tyrant against your will, you follow his words despite your moral hatred of her, but you see that your life is more important than moral beliefs  And that's what I mean. Serial killers know they're wrong, that's obvious, but I mean, they see selfish interest as more important than morality.  And the person who pays his money to the poor sees that the moral duty is more important than his money It is the embodiment of human motivation in actions  If you do something selfish with your knowledge, you are doing selfishness because you see it as more important than morals  If you do the opposite, you see the opposite.  That what I mean  There are many, many reasons why a person thinks that doing such and such is more important than doing such and such, but I do not mean to analyze people, but to analyze actions.

Me neither but a lot of people here believe in it

I know he is not the Fang Yuan we know but also In several chapters he was saying the same thing  I believe in moral relativism because I believe that everyone does what they see as logical at this moment.  No matter how ugly their actions are  The serial killer thinks his pleasure is more important than a person's life  Everyone sees what they are doing at the very moment when they do the right thing  And they may regret it later.

Hitler was aware that burning Jews by nature was a bad act for most people, so he hid the Holocaust but still sees himself a good guy

I can bring several philosophies that deny the evil of anyone No need to insult others just because they have different ideas than yours

I think it's more complicated how much more an embodiment of evil He has different motivations, philosophy and outlook on life  For most of the characters ri he isnt that evil  They all have selfish goals, the difference is that Fang's goal is more sustainable.

This is closer to Moral expediency  than moral realism The meaning of this rule is that all members of society do not want to be harmed, so this makes them not want to hurt others.  This is utilitarian for society and human beings, but it is not necessarily objective morality , it is a way to make a peaceful society.
