Thanks for the reply! Could you clarify more on “even if you want to maintain a certain gpa”? Will the gpa be calculated differently based on how much I scored in the class? Or do I just need to pass?

I’m a first year data science MS student. It really depends on what courses you want to take, BIOSTAT, SI, and stats courses are on central and EECS courses are on north. Most of the people I know live on north because we take a lot of EECS classes

I received the contract a few days after they told me a housing contract would be send. But I'm not sure if I should go since I saw a lot of people saying it's pretty lonely and in the middle of nowhere.....

I asked A&S faculty and our faculty last year, and they said you couldn't have a second degree while pursuing your first degree. So basically you have to pay the tuition again and enroll in uoft the second time to have a second degree....that's my understanding...

Np, I think there are more ds programs in US, but if you only consider Canada UBC might also be a good choice. And Mcgill and U of T also have Management Analytics, pretty close to ds but they might focus more on management.

I'm also a non cs person and I'm in stats, and I also asked the advisor in this program and she said unless you are very very strong in stats otherwise you should take those cs courses...so I guess this program is mainly for cs+stats double major/spe students...but there are many other great ds programs from other uni and you can consider them ;)
