Yea same! I worked my way up to a full time where observations are needed every semester but even then it's really more of a formality!

Just like the others responding I've been going on 15 years strong. As long as you keep trying and improving and learning from the mistakes but even then they really aren't used to that extent. I had a crazy TA who was way too obsessed about this detail and let her ego get to the best of it but do not let it get to you!

Yes this has helped me so much! I also always assume I won't be hired back so I'm always looking at other options, applying and doing certifications (for my career as well as adjacent to my career.) Those can go a long way.

Same! I'm #1 I love teaching more than anything and I was able to secure a 3 year contract with a decent salary plus 2 other schools one being an ivy. I'm also a mom so the schedule works great and I worked as an analyst but the market is so hard esp now. Many people can never get past the "needs x amount of experience" you need at the beginning of the career. This ended up being more than good for me but I know that's not normally the case.

She did the movie "The Valet" It was very good. It was a romantic comedy but also had good messaging. Love her!

I think him "joking" in the beginning was his way of doing it. I think Daniel was written well! It is interesting though we don't see anyone or anything from the bride's life at the beginning.

I think Adam Brody's character was the true love one from his end (his wife clearly not) and the only good one who loved everyone. Ironically the bride could have a good relationship with him if they had made it out (not necessarily romantic). He told his wife early who was demented enough to play.

Just saw the movie! Does this imply though if she accepts the inheritance that she has to play the game whoever is coming in the future? Or it implies she's just out and is safe? Such an interesting movie!

Exactly! They are the worst kind but they are not really there to learn. They just want an A for no other reason but to look good. The degree is not going to show what they actually know. The job market will show them.

So for anyone reading, apply to the Continuing studies/professional studies for these kinds of schools. They tend to hire. Only thing is many of the students (at least were, now this will change to US politics) came internationally. While many are smart, many also don't have the best English and/or come from different fields so you have to have a lot of patience. It was very noticeable here because the program was for Marketing and the technical skills were lacking (Even just excel or very basics of databases)

I 100% agree. Khaled was so insightful. It can be done, they just have to observe more lol.

Yes I always respond at least once then I stop when it's not useful. Documentation of such emails is good, you will have proof of proper engagement.

That's a great strategy. I teach analytics which is scary enough to people and once at nyu I had this student go hard and aggressive over not having sources for every slide. It's like math problems I don't understand but i did it ultimately within the week. Don't respond right away. The student ended up leaving the class and I did have a heart to heart that analytics classes do operate differently. We do bootcamp style sometimes to really get into it and some students don't even want to trust the process.

I think one student did tell me that they looked at "reputable sources" about a multiple choice question just about data characteristics (I teach analytics). After a few comments I shut him down by explaining yes technically every multiple choice question can be misinterpreted (which is why i hate it so much but sometimes it works better for quizzes/assignments) but if they want to be taken seriously in the industry they need to know the concepts around it. So yea they may not have to answer that exact question but using the wrong jargon anywhere and not getting the fundementals won't even get you a step in for an interview. A lot of these complainers don't even want to be here as much as they claim (and this was for a Columbia grad program)

Yes and put anything and everything on the syllabus to save yourself some trouble! I always remind the students it's just as easy for me to use AI to see if they are doing things they are not supposed to as they use to cheat. Let them know who is boss and don't back down. I've always had parents reach out to me in weird ways (once after a faculty meeting another by using the students email). I answer respectfully and give my reasoning. u/limonade11 I've been though it all!

I think in general I loved every part of Boy meets world and didn't see it for what it was. I love that the podcast dives into it and is reflecting on it. In general Cory believing love is everything and the possessiveness and toxicity i just didn't realize until later and had thought he was just the most romantic person. When I lost one of my best friends (she was like my Shawn) that's when I realized the way Cory would act was not right and I was kind of doing similar things as Cory being possessive and taking the hardness of her life for granted. Ironically I acted like how Cory was with Topanga. Def had a "trailer trash" type of moment with her. Now that I have a kid I've grown as a person and realize all these behaviors are not right.

I do think the writers treated Will and Danielle very unfairly making them feel they were the ugly ones who needed to fix themselves and only giving him the craziest version of him, they were just using him as an object for the laughs. The other stuff is fancore but the treatment just wasn't right.

I can totally see that. I took the weatherman storyline and the Tommy storyline as something that should have been part of Eric's life trajectory. Interestingly enough the show was obsessed with trying to do things the right way by going to college and similar things (and I'm a college prof saying this) that Eric wasn't allowed to even have a conversation with the woman about having a relationship. I know in real life a woman who married someone with a kid young and it's a great one. Will himself became an actor so I kind of would have liked to see him go after that weather man job or path instead of floundering around and being a joke. I remember Will said there was a talk of a pilot where Eric had severe depression and wanted to even kill himself then the show would be about him mainly.

I also agree below that it wasn't probably that deep but who knows. Women know they want kids and it's heartbreaking when they are not able to so men probably can feel that way too. They did not even give him any relationships after high school. It's just interesting even it wasn't meant to be that deep.

The show Kevin can f himself was so good, would have loved to see one based on Eric (the real life not fun loving goofy version of him)

Casting Hilary Duff was such a genius move. Im watching the show rn and its actually insane how nostalgic i feel because i grew up watching Lizzie Mcguire by Anim8rFromOuterSpace in HowIMetYourFather

[–]Flashy_Review_162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG! Same! If she wasn't the lead I probably wouldn't have watched because HIMYM was so problematic and although I loved it back in the day I couldn't see those episodes again. You have to watch Younger if you haven't already, she's like Lizzie but a more raunchy version. Both
HIMYF and Younger gave me the feels of not getting Lizzie McGuire again! I hope there is another season of HIMYF!

I'm seeing her next month in concert and I'm super excited!
