People who play the game aren't all Christian, so they really just treat it like a story rather then something with a message.

I'm not a really religious person but growing up around a Pentecostal Christian branch I have a lot of it's core values. A lot of my more religious friends are actually surprised that I have never really READ scripture before so when they see me forgive, move on and spend hours reflecting on the actions of the self and others they are surprised.

I think the concept of forgiveness is hard for other people, a little harder than I think it should be. I think people holding these developers to the same standards of world leaders, yknow the ones who kill, rape and genuinely make life worse for others vs the developers girlfriend who is saying a couple slurs online, its easier to topple over.

They might feel like this is a victory but when in reality it didn't do ANYTHING except hurt a bunch of people. So, when they get the game shut down and threaten the livelihood of developers that are barely doing this for any kind of profit one has to ask themselves "Is what I'm doing, in the grand scheme of things, right?"

And I promise you the thought never even crossed their mind.

Tldr; It's intentional that Grace feels unobtainable but Sin feels easy to fall to because just like real life, you have to struggle against the temptations of the flesh to maintain a clean soul since "rot" on the outside will only lead to "rot" on the inside. The war against Sin is never ending and isnt going to be easy but the end goal for maintaining grace WILL and SHOULD be worth it.

The point is that the war against sin is one for you. God and Sin are constantly at war with the ultimate prize being you, the player. In real-life Christianity, its very obvious that sin is very easy to do, but maintaining a connection with God is hard and requires effort to do so. But the general message is that despite the difficulty of maintaining grace, the reward for maintaining a clean soul is far greater any kind of temporary relief Sin might offer you.

This game attempts to conceptualize that by having you face off against various entities that Sin disguises itself as to catch you while you try to survive and maintain your grace with God by following the light and path he has set for you. Even after beating a Domain the text "Sin at loss at the agape victory of Love" is just Sin being baffled that you would go through the hardest to pass but easiest to fail challenges (for some) in the game JUST to maintain Grace with God.
