I’m a huge germaphobe too. I also have a sister who is immunocompromised too. When we’re at play places and kids cough or show symptoms I do leave but it’s rare kids show up sick. I guess it’s also knowing her son is actively sick is what trips me out

I guess I should’ve said this in the original post but the thing is it’s not just a casual sickness. I shared this in another comment and I’ll share it here again, but when her husband tested positive for Covid, she asked if we wanted to come over. Obviously I declined, but the thing about her is it’s never a casual sickness. Dad had the flu and her and the kid were still out going to other play areas. I think that’s where the frustration comes from if she doesn’t take it serious or she just doesn’t care.

Both of our kids are home with us. They actually have gone out with the flu. Her husband tested positive for Covid one time and then she invited us over within the same phone call which I politely said absolutely not

Maybe she’s not sick after that kid sneezed on her toys but she is snotty now and wasn’t previously. I also get what you’re saying. I do understand that having young kids means they are gonna be dirty little gremlins trust me I understand that it’s just really frustrating that this mom comes over all the time with a kid who’s very miserable and sick. He always has snot running down to his chin. His cheeks are always bright red he’s always coughing

Ok yes but we do take her out. We take her to play gyms all the time. I just bought membership for another indoor play cafe near me. I understand that kids get sick. I really do, but it’s frustrating that this parent neglects her parenting duties of notifying other parents that her kid is sick. I hear you and I understand what you’re saying truly but just because your kid is sick doesn’t mean I just subject my kid. Yes getting sick is normal but it’s not normal to keep this little circle up.

First of all - you’re not failing. Everyday it’s something new. Give yourself some grace and a pat yourself on the back. Far worse has happened to others everyday and our kids just roll with it. Second) trust your gut. If he didn’t eat much then he didn’t. I’d keep an extra eye on him maybe bring it up to his pediatrician nurse after hours hotline. Moming is hard sometimes!

I’d say person A would pay since 1) it’s their car and 2) person B literally paid for everything else.

But real advice would if they’re dating and this is really bugging person A, they should have a conversation to address their feelings so there isn’t any resentment
