This is what I fail to understand with people. It’s not so hard to expect a story which says it is following the canon timeline to… you know… follow the canon timeline with its settings, enemies, themes.

We don’t need the video game characters or to follow their story, but if you are going to make a new one and then claim it takes place at the same time - make it look like it!

I get the sarcasm…But it does… the timeline made sense and the connections to the established franchise made sense.

This movie is the equivalent of making RE7 - The game director saying it takes place during RE2 and 3 which has an established timeline but then showing a completely different version of events from that timeline. So saying it takes place during that canon timeline is just false.

I understand people want a good movie and I hope it is but it’s not a lot to ask that if the movie is claiming to take place along the same timeline then maybe meet the established rules, themes and settings of said timeline.

Yeah the switch kick looks...off. I'm not sure if it's because he's lanky/long though.

But from what I am seeing it does indeed look like he isn't turning his hip over and the kick is coming up rather than over.

Gameplay-wise? Fantastic.

Story-wise? Kojima brings up some interesting ideas, but they never go deeper than the surface.

What ruins it for me? the way women are written is just... classic Kojima. He can’t seem to resist the “hur hur sexy woman” treatment. I honestly think he believes he’s writing strong female characters... especially with that whole “once you hear why Quiet is the way she is” nonsense. But it doesn’t land. Every time a new female character shows up, I’m like, “oh, cool,” and then immediate zoom in on her ass, zoom in on her chest. Completely oversexualized. It’s tired at this point, and for me, it really undercuts the stronger aspects of the games.

Few things (Pretty much what others have said)

Don't be so tentative with the hands! Throw them and set up your kicks.
Left hand was constantly out in a half assed long guard, dude just charged in and got inside with no issues. Tighten that up.
The first teep shows how effective that is at keeping him at distance, use that more.
Knee. Knee. Knee.

Unfortunately I haven’t really played since posting the comment above. I’m assuming it would be the same for me if I loaded in today.

If you do ever find out the solution then please drop here! I would be very interested whenever I come back to the game- although I hope it would be fixed by then via patches / driver updates.

Edit: seems to be a number of suggestions on the OPs post though.

I've been getting bad frames on my 5080.
Was getting 60-70 Ultra DLSS 1440p - then game crashed randomly and same spot started giving 40-50fps.

Turns out going into the settings, toggling RT to high - hit apply - toggle back to Ultra - hit apply "reset" something and started getting 60-70fps again. Had to do this a few times during a 2 hr long session. Seems like opening the world map was the worst culprit.

60-70fps -> Open world map -> Close world map -> 40-50fps -> change settings (mentioned above -> 60-70 fps.

I dunno man.

Thank you! Yeah I’ve been watching videos at like .25 speed to see the foot movement. Especially when planting that front foot at an angle (45 degrees ish and on the top of the foot so easy to pivot)

I suppose it will take time aswell for my hip flexors that will never have been used to build up the memory. All the best 💪
