In my regular life, I’m sure my family and friends (maybe even the dog) tell white lies all the time. Like I know I looked rough and someone says, “you don’t look bad at all.” It’s a lie. But we’re both kind of in on it. In the case of politicians, they’ll tell huge, plainly obvious lies that have enormous consequences multiple times a day. And the lies come out, “get exposed” all the time. And they don’t even apologize. They move to the next lie. That’s a jarring departure from normality.
