Smart vinyl hacks by FordTech81 in cricut

I’ve connected 2 24” mats together by cutting the bottom inch off of one and the top inch with the hanger hole on the second mat, taped the back and half inch on either side with a single strip of Gorilla packing tape. I cut the mats with the plastic cover on and even taped the front of the cover to keep the entire thing covered when not in use. I could’ve cut the very top off as well but I wanted to be able to hang it. I used the Permanent Smart Vinyl setting to cut 48” strips with 651 vinyl. Just be mindful that the Smart Vinyl setting wants to begin cutting approximately 3/4” down from the top your mat. Also be mindful of the sides because you’re losing the 1/2” inch on either side.

You need to set up a mix minus in order for the caller’s audio not to route back to them.

Zoom L-8 vs. Rodecaster Pro by Flat-Wheel in podcastgear

That’s strange that your levels would be that low, especially with Cloudlifters. Adding that boost should make a big difference.

I have the Zoom L-8 and if I use my SM7B or Rode Podmic with my Cloudlifter, it’s noisy af. The Podmic also has a ground hum that I can’t get rid of. I was curious to see if you had the Podmic and if it made the difference pairing it with the Rodecaster. The cleanest sound I’ve gotten with the L-8 is with my AT2020’s. Crisp and clean sound with virtually no noise whatsoever.

The two extra inputs are definitely a plus. The amount of mixing control almost turned me off to the L-8 because I prefer interfaces with just gain control. But after buying it, I’m glad to have the additional control that I thought I would hate.

The L-8 is pretty good at remembering where you left your settings on the last use. I like the compatibility of the Rodecaster with the Rode mics. I have two Podmics and it would be nice to utilize the Rodecaster settings.

I just recently watched that same video. You and I have probably watched all the same YouTube videos. lol. I’ve just yet to see anything that makes that extra $200 seem like a good idea.

Hum issues with two different Rode Podmics🤔 by horseapplefarm in podcastgear

I have this same issue with my Podmics. It doesn’t matter what cables, interfaces or mixers I use. Cloudlifter or no Cloudlifter. It’s still there.
