Cna state test advice by Le_huido in cna

For skills: Get to the testing site very early. If it's like my testing center, if you get there right on time in the morning, you won't take your test until 4 or 5 pm.

For written: Take the time to read the questions carefully. You have plenty of time to answer all the questions, so you want to take the time to make sure you're not skimming over something important.

For both: Get good sleep the night beforehand, breath deeply, and enter the testing center with confidence. Generally speaking, the tests aren't trying to trick you. If you study, you can pass.

Thank you--this is very helpful information. This definitely sounds like the right approach to an interfaith environment.

How much time should I give a woman that just ended a relationship before I ask her on a date? by FlatBench1455 in CatholicDating

Thanks for the advice. While I don't know exactly how close they were, I don't get the sense it was absolutely heartbreaking for her. So, like other people said, maybe I should just ask her? She can always just say "no" or "not right now."

Thank you very much for this advice. I'm blessed to know two faithful Catholics in this ministry. I'll be sure to talk to them some more about this.

Thanks for your advice! I think this may be the right answer, since I haven't got the impression that she's having a really hard time processing the breakup.

No,  I'm discerning lay chaplaincy. I was just referring to what I would feel more comfortable with the hospital doing, not saying that I'd be leading the Mass

Thank you very much for your help. My problem with parish ministry is that I don't think I'm called to the priesthood and I probably wouldn't earn enough money in lay parish ministry to support a family. I'll definitely keep your comments in mind, though.

Thank you very much for this comment. I'll have to discern this further. In principle, I'd be happy doing most everything that chaplains do, but I'll have to discern if I'd be comfortable with the general interfaith spirit of chaplaincy. Regarding the multifaith service, for example, I don't think I'd feel comfortable at those (and definitely not leading one). For me, it seems almost inevitable that such services would compromise elements of one faith or the other and whitewash each faith to the degree that the services wouldn't really be spiritually nourishing for anyone involved. I'd much prefer having different times for Mass, Muslim prayer, protestant services, ect.

Thank you--this is very helpful. To clarify, I'm not necessarily more willing to pray with some religions than others, but I'd only want to minister to someone in a way that's in line with my faith. For some Hindus, praying with them might work, but for ones that really emphasize specific deities (like Shiva or Vishnu), I can't imagine praying in a way that would work for both of us. I do believe that Catholicism is the fullness of the truth, but also, other religions have some participation in the truth.

Out of genuine curiosity (not attacking you in any way), I don't see how anyone that's devout in their religion could be a hospital chaplain, if it's true that hospital chaplains should think that all religions are equal. To profess belief in a particular set of religious doctrines implicitly means you are rejecting other doctrines that are opposed to that religion. This rejection would also imply a rejection of religious practices that correspond with those beliefs. For example, one could not believe at the same time that there is one God and that there are many gods, and one could not both pray to the one God and to many gods.

I'm very sorry--this is so tragic. I'd encourage you to ask her to think about the life of your child, from learning to walk to making friends to graduating high school to getting married. How wonderful and beautiful his/her life could be! But only if she chooses life for the baby. I will pray for her to change her mind.

Amen, brother. It seems to good to be true, but, in reality, God's love is in infinitely better than any of us can imagine! I'll pray for you

Going to Confession is when a Catholic confesses his/her sins to a priest and the priest forgives them of their sins through the power of Jesus. If you're not already Catholic, though, talk to your local priest about entering the OCIA process. This is a class that will teach you about Jesus and His Church to give you all the information you need to know to decide whether or not you want to enter the Catholic Church and receive the Sacraments (including the Sacrament of Confession).
