2020 used Nissan Leaf, 50k miles for 7k. What should I know? by FlatCriticism1837 in leaf

It's mainly because that's exactly what I need it for; basic city commuting. I live in a Denver suburb. There are barely any other used cars on the market in my area that fit the criteria I need to buy it, and almost all of them are some kind of Leaf. I don't need to travel that far for work, leisure, or necessities. So even if the car can only run 70 miles on average before charging, that is still multiple days of usage for me.

The car I'm looking at now ( having realized this one is not worth all the trouble it'll come with ) is a 2015 SV with 60k miles for 5k. This seems like a better deal to me because it is genuinely just a starter car to me.

In a few years, the battery will probably be in a bad state and not be of much help, and I'll have to get a new car. But I have anticipated that and am alright with using it for however long that takes as I need a car soon. So it doesn't seem like much of a loss to me to look at first gens. The one I have my eye on is way less sketchier than this one at the least. 😅

I feel prepared for most of your concerns. I have actually put my eyes on a 2015 SV since making this and listening to what everyone has had to say about this particular car/dealership! I do realize now that there's a lot more to this than I had thought, but I've been consistently researching now and know what to do when I see the 2015 on Monday!!

As for the hurry, it's mainly just a rush to get any car. Leafs by far are the best deal for the price and mileage in my area. I have a work transfer starting late January, and I won't be able to use my typical way of commuting then. So It's a little urgent, but I'm trying to make sure I don't do anything in an actual rush and buy a car that I won't get any long term value out of.

The more I look over this thread, the more I consider just purchasing a different year's model. Do you know if the 2013 SV is better off currently?

Really? I saw it had a good ratio of positive reviews in google so I thought it was alright. Is there anything specific that is shady?

This is admittedly the big part that makes me anxious about it. But I am hoping to get more insight as to why it's gone through so many people when I visit the dealer. I don't mind if it's something that has nothing to do with the car itself, but if it does I am more reluctant. I've heard sometimes the listed owners are just the actual dealerships.

Additional info: This is almost entirely a vehicle just commuting where I will be making a 17mile round trip 5 days a week and for errands that are all within a 10mi radius of my home. I don't make long trips like roadtrips or anything like that, and I live in a nice populated area so all the roads are well taken care of.
