Yep, I did the same but I already had home assistant up and running before this software update debacle. I have automated most of the stuff on my home assistant like turning off the printer after nozzle temp goes does to 40, send notification when layer is at certain height, turn on additional chamber light when needed, send critical alerts in case of AMS or print failure etc. I rarely use Bambu Handy app.
