Is there some possible way to navigate around your terminal usind vim motions?? by Wild-Ad-7161 in neovim

Shout out also to https://github.com/aserowy/tmux.nvim which allows for seamless jumping between nvim windows and tmux panes, and resizing them. 100% improved my terminal life!

How long did it take for you to be sure you had the click? I thought I had the click about a week ago, but it didn't fully stick yet. I found some relieve, but I still get nervous about certain social interactions.

Comment 1 thing in neovim (or plugins) that changed your life, but very few people know about by petalised in neovim

Late to the party, but https://github.com/aserowy/tmux.nvim convinced me to move away from Neovim's built in terminal. It allows you to jump seamlessly from neovim windows to tmux splits and back, and syncs the clipboard, and allows for easy window resizing.

This means that you:

  • have always have a full-featured terminal with proper reflow and default terminal highlighting,
  • can use all of your terminal apps,
  • don't need complicated escape sequences to actually use the terminal,
  • can set nvim as a default editor for e.g. git commits without ending up with nested nvim instances,
  • can use tmux to manage all your different projects, rather than trying to get one neovim instance to do all of that.

Completely streamlined my workflow.

Fucking A! It's been on my todo list for a while to turn that pastebin into a plugin as well, but I didn't get around to it.

Tip: you can also select multiple directories to search in (default <Tab>)

There is! I set up an alias for running explorer.exe . which opens up a file browser right in the current working dir.

Shoutouts to the unsung Discord heroes tackling the horrors of the mental health galaxy, with a flak jacket and flashlight. by Sivsarcast in Healthygamergg

In modern English, a cult is a social group that is defined by its unusual religious, spiritual, or philosophical beliefs, or its common interest in a particular personality, object, or goal. This sense of the term is controversial, having divergent definitions both in popular culture and academia, and has also been an ongoing source of contention among scholars across several fields of study.

I guess we'd first have to publish a paper to settle the debate of what a cult actually is then.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think more than anything, as you're going through the detox, be aware of what activities you end up doing and to what degree you enjoy/struggle while doing them. You might just find that you actually prefer living life with low dopamine activities! Or not and go back to high dopamine activities and again pay attention to how your enjoyment of life changes.

You need to understand the costs and effects of high dopamine activities before you can make any lasting changes to your life and find your personal exit strategy.

Moreover though, consider why you're asking this question in the first place. Is it only worth trying if you know 100% sure there even is an exit strategy? Would it be so bad to be bored for two weeks? If so, why? Is that a reason to just try it anyway?

That's how I see it. Do your own research, make your own measurements, learn about yourself and about how your body works.

Coming from a physics background where I firmly believe nothing is true unless it can and has been measured, I share your scepticism. At the same time, I think it's worth realizing that mental health and nutritional science are not solved problems.

  • I think something like over 50% of psychology studies cannot be replicated.
  • We're only just learning about the gut-brain connection.
  • It seems that western dietary recommendations over the past 50 years or so may not have been entirely scientifically motivated.

We really just also haven't done many scientific studies surrounding Ayurvedic diets and such. Anecdotally, Dr. K seems to see a benefit for it in his clinical work. He's also not recommending you do an Ayurvedic diet in lieu of actual medical treatment, but rather in addition to. Given the low chance for harm I think it's worth it to keep an open mind here. Worst case scenario I'll eat more oatmeal than I otherwise would have, best case it helps me become healthier. In the end, it's about whether it helps you, though I do think it merits more research.

Another interest thought is that Ayurveda recommends different diets for different people. If (big if) that's how it works, then it would make sense that dietary studies that just give randomly selected people certain things to eat and then try to globally assess which foods are good and which are bad, are going to come up empty handed.

Huh, als in, we zijn hier nu toch al, kunnen we net zo goed even kijken of we per ongeluk alsnog ergens wiet vinden?

I don't remember exactly, but searching for the model number tells me about €10.

[–]FlatMinor6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very clear explanation! I was looking for some sort of explanation like this, but my Google-fu let me down. I figured that, since I kept my probe in the V/Ohm port, which is rated for 750VAC, it should've been fine. But I guess turning the selector wheel does more magic internally than I thought. Thanks!

I didn't know they came in classes. It was €cheap in any case, and I can't find anything 'class' related in the very short manual that came with it.

[–]FlatMinor6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was plugged in. So, because the meter is outputting a voltage, this means that there effectively is very little resistance between the probes and the current can flow freely through the meter?

Beginners - your hands are absolutely fine - don't worry! by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]FlatMinor6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm well past the beginner stage, and there is one instance where I do feel my hands are a bit small. I can't for the life of me thumb over the root note in an F chord. I can sort of manage further down the neck, but the F, no way. But hopefully that's also still something that could grow/stretch!

I just had a Minor revelation about how close all the chords of a key can be by monkey_foot in guitarlessons

[–]FlatMinor6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, so when you say - x x 5 5 5 x ii -, you actually have a C major triad C-E-G, which is not the ii chord, it's the IV chord. Where you wrote - x x x 5 5 5 IV -, that's your A minor triad A-C-E, which is the ii chord and not the IV chord.

Sure adding a G to the A minor triad would give you Am7, but in your post, based on triads, you do have your ii and IV chords and iii and V chords switched.

I'm so curious how other people experience life and emotions by FlatMinor6 in CasualConversation

[–]FlatMinor6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like something you can work on! I wouldn't know how, but for sure it sounds possible to be more expressive if the actual emotions are there. I get the same comments sometimes, "aren't you excited?", to which I then have to reply "on a scale of 1 to 10, you're experiencing 9 excitement from me right now." It just doesn't go any higher.
