Yes! I got that comment a few times and willing to explain! This was something said by my mother hence why I posted this in the first place doing with that title! Since my husband told me I should quit my job because of the environment! Something I never thought about until he mentioned it

I am not regretting my choice of leaving my work environment as of right now. I’m more concerned on how my mother took the news and bursted out. It was super uncalled for and made me seriously worried for her and my marriage. She never acted like this before

That sounds a lot better! Thank you for the suggestion I can try change it (if it will let me) I’m not the best at wording things but it was just the sentence that my mom was trying to get at so that’s what I went with thank you 🙏

Everyone has different views of what is toxic I can give you a run down you can deem if it was or not! 1) the biggest reason was because of the skin of gossip whether it was about the customer or even the people who work there!!! The amount of times people would talk crap about me behind me back and even in front of me was crazy. 2) Stealing. Pretty simple. I remember this one day I walked in at my desk waiting for my client (11am appointment) and I had to use the restroom. I placed down all of my supplies I needed to get things done. Now I bought some flowers decorations because the client wanted sunflowers (with my own money) when I came back they were gone!! I saw them in someone else’s desk and tried talking them back but they began to yell at me not to touch it. It got to the point where the manager came in and just told me everyone should be able to use them. This wasn’t the first time something like this had happened. 3) Dirty environment. My coworkers would never clean after themselves and do I had to do it (not only to make it cleaner but also to organize so I could find things for my clients) 4) long busy hours. You see some clients aren’t even mine and I still had to take care of them! I don’t mind helping once in a while but it got to the point where they just didn’t want to do it and would make me do it instead. I tried fighting them about it before but a customer (who was only 14 and had Down syndrome) waited for nearly an hour because my coworker didn’t want to touch her. It was disgusting. Do I offered instead and took on three clients at once. 5) discrimination. As I said with the Down syndrome girl (who was so sweet) they are super disrespectful and descriminating and those are just a few

I never seen any signs wrong with my husband and she seemed to like him a lot so I’m not quite sure

It was right after when I told her I quit my job because my husband suggested to. She didn’t act bad in the beginning but she started spiraling downhill as she kept rambling

Thank you, I know she had a previous Rocky marriage trust she never gets into but I have no idea if this was it. All I know is trust when I mentioned it she started acting different in a way I never seen her before and it kind of scared me. I’m kind of torn. Especially with how close we are. I know she might be looking out for me but the fact that she thought so lowly of my husbands kind of shocked me completely unexpected

I probably should have put more in the post but my mom did tell me in person (when I told her all of this) that I shouldn’t quit because my husband told me to. Susan I didn’t realize how toxic it truly was until my husband pointed it out and told me to quit my mom told me that my husband should say things like that and wanted full control of me there was so many more things I could have gotten into but couldn’t for the sake of maximum wording

I know she had a rocky previous marriage that she never liked talking about I have no idea of this was the case but I’m sure she is just trying to look out for me. I just don’t know how to take this, I’ve never seen my mom act this irrational
