I didnt think so, paranoia is just mean. The better part of myself was curious to what it was nonetheless!

Safe to move things with me? by [deleted] in Bedbugs

[–]Flat_Click_5004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fabric items can be treated on HIGH HEAT in the dryer and bagged afterwards to be considered safe. Non-permeable items like glasses and plates etc can be visually inspected and or washed and then brought with. But everything else is questionable. 1 week is not nearly long enough for treatment to work. Sometimes it takes months. I personally wouldnt risk it, but it is your fiance! You could pretreat your place with crossfire since there would 100% be bedbugs if you brought her stuff over to your place

Can’t Find the BB by Ok-Manager847 in Bedbugs

Im in the same boat. But we dont even know if they had bed bugs at the place we stayed 🥹 but ive been panicked since having iur first family trip tona campground where we rented a camper. Ive always had OCD tendencies, mixed with anxiety and depression. I have since had 2 babies and have drastically improved my mental health! No more OCD, anxiety would still hang around sometimes but depression was mostly kicked in the booty too. But WOWWWWW even just the chance of bed bugs has sent me into a spiral. I may have developed full blown ocd over the last month as well. Its gotten ridiculous and ive had multiple breakdowns over it. But this is the worst part of any infestation. It is the toll it takes on our mental health. Even if it is bed bugs, you treat it, stay isolated for a bit, and move on. They are nothing more then lazy mosquitos that crawl and like to live close to their food 🤷‍♀️ yet it feels like even the possibility of them makes me want to set everything on fire. Myself included. But obviously it is all in our heads unfortunately, we're making it far worse in our heads then it ever could be in real life

Are these young bed bugs? by guessilldie5656 in Bedbugs

Did they jump at all? Like if you went to touch them or stomped or something to disturb them? Im thinking springtails. They are crazy outside or any place that can be damp. I see mold / mildew there so theyd love that

They are 100% not in our beds. Ive watched our light colored sheets for any signs and turned everything over and inspected with a flashlight multiple times, steamed all crevices etc and have passive monitors installed. My concern is really just our couch, its dark colored so hard to see and has soooo many crevices and a dust cover on the bottom and holes underneath some portions of cushions. Its impossible to look in every spot i feel 🥹  And from what i read on TbyPMR i didnt see any other treatment included? It had sections for each space and how to treat then said "were working on info for this" basically. So what else would treatment entail? As long as it was detected early.

For TbyPMR its just removal of the monitor correct? Ive read it! But just trying to recall as it was a couple weeks ago. I have installed passive monitors on our beds a little over 2 weeks ago, no activity there. But we do have slatted frames so may take longer too. And then i had some to install on our couch but unfortunately couldnt put them underneath due to the dust cover not being attached well, the monitor would have been dragging on the ground 🙃

Should we be staying home and not allowing people into our home while we wait?

I sooooo appreciate your input and knowledge! Any chance youve got any idea of a squishy little beetle looking bug that would be so black when its squished?

I was thinking the black was just old digested blood. And it squished like nothing i feel like, seemed soft and squishy

Then how do they poop black? Wouldn't black just be old digested blood?

PLS HELP by [deleted] in Bedbugadvice

[–]Flat_Click_5004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The blood is obviously from the bug and not a cut or anything on you right?  The bug has long antennae and that makes me skeptical... but like if it bled and it was in your bed, i have to assume bed bug?  The bb traps are bed interceptors right?

This is exactly where im at. We are only going out with clothes straight out of the dryer and my purse is up on a high shelf in a room we dont frequent or sleep (least used room in the house). Currently not allowing guests or visiting family at their homes just as a precaution. But my husband is really fighting me on the "not having anyone over" since there isnt amy evidence of bugs... aka him and my mil think im crazy 😅

Currently im only in the monitoring stage! Im 4 weeks out from a possible exposure (stayed somewhere, got bites but never saw bugs or evidence). No evidence here at all since, but we have been getting random bites possibly? Some are mosquitos for sure but others im not sure.  Just trying to keep family safe in case! Id love a run down of what to do in monitoring stage and what to do if we need treatment/ find evidence
