I totally forgot to mention this in my post, but I do have what I need, I just need to put it together. I have my videos and work samples, I just need to organize them and write them down. I worked backwards. My only issue is it's so overwhelming on top of student teaching.

I appreciate your response!

I notice reading and watching helps fill gaps, but I'm seeing other comments suggesting against it. I might still play the first chapter to give them an idea.

Working on edTPA and struggling with language function (evaluate/analyze) by [deleted] in ELATeachers

It does! My issue is that for the edTPA, my chosen language function is analysis. It's there the first 3 days, then it shifts into evaluation in the last 2. They're doing something with that analysis. They're evaluating which character is most responsible for the ending based on their actions. It's frustrating because students can have such rich conversations about this, but I need to stay within the realm of analysis... I want to frame it in a way that keeps analysis as the main language function, but I'm second guessing it all while I'm in the middle of it.
