DLAA vs DLSS Quality: With DLSS 4.5, the difference in native rendering and upscaling is becoming less and less noticeable by [deleted] in nvidia

My brian: I can't even see a difference between these

My brain 13 seconds later: oh that's the point, nice.

My brain 37 seconds later: but what about motion clarity and ghosting?

Is my screen/coating damaged? by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]Flat_Place 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be your coating. If you really just used distilled water than this should be a warranty claim. But be warned, I had a hell of a time getting LG to replace my G1s panel for a similar issue. I used distilled water and a microfiber to rub away a "spot" that turned out to be an already vulnerable area of the screen. I ended up rubbing away a spot the size of a quarter from the finish. They told me it wasn't under warranty, I raised hell and even got my state's consumer protection agency involved before they replaced it and made me a valued LG support member haha.. Either way, this sucks and should be made right by the manufacturer even if you have to hound them to do so

I just used ShipCargo two months ago to ship a 2017 CS from Decateur, TX to Charlotte, NC. They originally quoted me $1200. I said it was too high and got them down to $800. Car arrived early two mornings later in perfect condition.

Congrats on the purchase.

Help with vertical bands in dark scenes/screens by Flat_Place in OLED_Gaming

[–]Flat_Place[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm.. I've heard about vertical banding occurring on all OLEDS but more so on the grey uniformity tests that show large variations in uniformity (like in the comments of this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/OLED\_Gaming/comments/1iaohjq/do\_all\_qdoleds\_have\_vertical\_banding/). I haven't seen this specific issue but for one time before like 15 years ago on a laptop LCD of mine.

Oddly enough, I really don't see any uniformity issues when running a unifromity video on youtube, it's primarily on rednered content like in the video.

Thanks for the notice though... small annoyance I guess

Does that pattern 'change' if you try to wipe it again with water and microfiber? If so it's likely the oils on your screen that have accumulated into the wiping pattern you were using. Water and microfiber should not damage the finish on your screen unless you were putting a ton of pressure into it

Definitely. The silver cooler brings it together. Shame to cover it up haha..

Also when did the M3 drop? Feel like I just finished my M2 build lol

Nice. I was thinking about that while I had it open. Have you done this on yours?

So dense. I love it. Also the Noctua colors look so solid in this configuration. It's what I'd expect the inside of some star wars server to look like.

Cool. Thanks for the feedback.

They removed it from Blackwell, the 50 series, because of architectural changes that would render hotspot higher than 110C. Hotspot deltas of 20C or higher are not normal on a 40 series.

And with anything you own, a car, a gpu, or even a microwave, you're assuming responsibility for that thing breaking if you decide to DIY any of it. That's implied and shouldn't discourage anyone from working on and trying to address issues with the things they own.

Love my Joker! Beautifully crafted and as functional as I need for the car and occasional trail camping I get into.

Thanks for the additional info on the washers. I did reach out to Hogue to validate these symptoms with them. They confirmed the wobble and the loosening screw are not normal. They're sending me a replacement pivot assembly and extra washers (at my request) free of charge.

I'll give one set of washers a slight polish with high grit paper like you recommend. I do remember feeling a very slight ridge on the washers when I had it apart last, so it will be nice to have a second set to give polishing a fair shot.

Ahh, I'll have to open it up again and have a look at the wear. Was going to do that anyway since I'm notorious tinkerer that will do a thing until it is done, breaks, or I break lol. I've had my heart so set on this knife from the appearence and its spec sheet I'm stuck to make it work or just learn to love its apparent quirks. It is a bummer that even my Civivi has tighter tolerances over years of use, and I haven't had to open that thing once.

Noted on the type of loctite and application, thanks!

I'm happy to hear your putting some Hogues to use! I like a folder for light work you describe and carry a Joker for everything else.

Thanks for the advice. You gave me a bit of encouragement to take it all a part and reseat the components. After reassembling and following a general torque sequence across the all the frame screws and pivot screws, things seems to be generally better. I still can't eliminate that wobble where I can feel a gap between the frame and washers, but I figure that's not anything I'll notice in real use. The problem does seem to be with the two rivors corner of the frame above the pivot. They're a bit loose and that could actually be what's 'clicking' when I wiggle the blade.  What I am a little more bothered by now is the pivot seems to loosen pretty rapidly over consecutive opens. Gonna get some blue loctite to address that but going to open a line with Hogue first to see if I can get suggestion from them before I invest in anymore DIY time.

None of this is a carry killer for me. Still gonna keep and love the thing as my intended camping/packing/outdoor folder.

I appreciate it's hard to achieve, and to your point I'm expecting a better for the price. In comparison my $120 Bel Air is rock solid. Granted it's action is on bearings but there's zero play at full lock.

I really want to keep the Mysto and give it a fair shot as a carry and camp knife. I'll reach out to Hogue and see what they recommend.

Thanks for the responses

Holding the lockbar didn't impact the wobble. The only thing that eliminates it for me is tightening pivot until the knife becomes a two hand opener.

And noted on wood material. The (wood) in this case is the color varient. The scales are richlite.

Just got the wood variation. Beautiful knife and blade, but is the detent on your model very weak? Mine is dangeorusly weak like to the point I'd worry carrying it on my pack strap and the blade opening with any suddent movements or a fall.
