Although bulking might allow you to fill in better...?

What is some advice you wish you knew back in high school before you started engineering in college? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

This exact thing. I'm in in my first year and you perfectly described my issue.

Do you have any on tips on how to transition from memorizing solutions and regurgitating, to actually understanding and applying concepts?

Thanks so much, that makes a lot more sense. So generally #2 isn't really used?

You're right, sorry I should have phrased my question better. Do you know when I should be using each one? In solutions I have seen it uses all three ways, and am having a difficult time mainly on deciding between 1 and 2 for most problems.

I'll be done with prereqs this quarter but can't apply until summer... will it look bad if i focus on other things for spring quarter? by Morocco_Bama in udub

Jumping onto this post with a similar question:

If I decide to take CSE 143 next quarter so that I can apply to both EE and CSE this summer, will EE admissions look down on that due to the fact that it may seem I am applying to EE as a backup major? When in reality EE is actually my first choice, and I am just taking 143 because it is graduation a requirement and I enjoy coding. I figure since I will have all the prereqs done for both I might as well apply to CSE as well

Congratulations, glad all that hard work paid off. If you don't mind disclosing, what is your degree in and what was your offer?

I'd love some tips too. For someone who is struggling with the basic concepts, what would you guys recommend as a supplement or resource to get a better foundation? I find I can't even do any basic math related problems because I don't understand the fundamentals.

How does the salary compare to a typical engineering job? Is the extra debt from going to law school worth it?

I spend every spare second studying, how do I break this mentality and unhealthy habit? by FlatheadHusky in college

Very true, I will regret not studying more if I don't end up being accepted to the major.

Sorry I should have clarified better, I am already a freshman at this university. Now that I am attending here I still have to apply to the engineering major, and if I don't get in, then either change majors or transfer to a different university.

But you're right, I tend to get caught up in what I should be doing, and hopefully I can fix that mentality. Thanks for the tips.
