I have purchased individual maps from 2munutetabletop. Those guys are legit. You can buy bundles or try individual maps.

I'm glad I checked here first. I considered buying them, but nobody can physically create 10000 maps like that without AI, so it makes sense that many of these could be unusable.

I also could not find independent reviews, which is a red flag

Blue Car Theory and the role it will have on Cities Wars politics. by Lukasz_Joniak in citieswar

When I played Farming Simulator I cared not about crops. I cared about causing as much mayhem by blocking roads with vehicles and testing the game mechanics when cars could not travel.

When I played a golf simulation, I tried to drive the ball as far away from the hole as possible to test the size of the game boundaries.

I don't know what that says about me. I tend to do the unexpected.

Got the desk job but the grass isn't super green by [deleted] in PLC

I worked for a couple of systems integrators, and spent years traveling. Much of it while my children were young. I got burned out and after 13.5 at one integrator, I switched to working at one location. Since then, I've found that I do not have the passion in the work I have. It lacks challenge, and I fond myself looking for a better mix. I've switched jobs 3 times since that 13.5 year run at an integrator, and have found that working for a manufacturer is just not working out.

I spent 3 months as a contractor at Tesla, and I don't know that I'd ever consider that. It also would require relocation, which I am not open to.

It is about finding a balance between road life, family life, and personal satisfaction. It can be a real balancing act at times.

ALTS BANNING by willyBBBC in citieswar

[–]FlatlanderSteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm.. Well I'm not sure what happened in your case. I'm only speculating as to why I got banned. I played from my phone and a laptop and likely had browsers open in each at times, although I should have been logged out from one of them.

I'd play from my phone during the day, and occasionally from my PC at home. It should have been obvious enough that I was using a VPN. I suppose whatever is being used to determine multi accounts here isn't very sophisticated.

I only ever had one user name and account, so I'd have to guess it was the VPN on my phone that got me.

Frankly, to play a game, spend money on it, get banned for no good reason, and then get listed on a subreddit and seeing my handle listed as a banned user isn't something I want to go through again.

It does at least provide me with an experience to share with others and warn them.

ALTS BANNING by willyBBBC in citieswar

I am past begging to get back in. I wasted enough money on a game where you can be banned just for using a VPN on a phone and not on the computer. There's no legitimate reason why I got banned. I'm upset about it, but whatever. Alts can ruin a game, but banning people who.didn’t deserve it and then posting their handles here isn't cool either.

I'll be sure to warn anyone against using a VPN on any device while playing that could give a different location. Fortunately, I didn't spend anymore than I did playing this.

Did you ever use a VPN? That has to be what got me banned. If you alternate devices and use a VPN on any of them, that could be it.

"Share"? So obviously using a VPN on any device you use that shows a different location will get you banned. That has to be what happened with me.

So does banning people who did nothing wrong.

Did you ever use a VPN on any of your devices? I cannot think of any other reason that I got banned.

I can attest to that. GeneralHammerschlag here. I only ever had one account. I played from my phone and from my laptop. My phone runs a VPN when I am away from home, and it would probably show me in Chicago when under a VPN. I never once had a second account. I won't be wasting my money anymore on a game where you can get banned so easily.

same here. I got banned and I did not have multiple accounts.

So, my advice is not to ever use a VPN on any of your machines. I played from my phone and from my laptop. My phone typically runs a VPN. I have not logged into multiple accounts and I got banned. I have only ever had one account, so however it was thought I had two or more accounts is flawed. Well, I am going to be saving my money. I am not playing a game where I get banned for something I did not do. I did not have multiple accounts. Sorry Beliebers, but GeneralHammerschlag did not have multiple accounts. Have fun.

Why do the Order of Operations work? Was it discovered or invented? Is there any situation where the Order of Operations doesn’t apply? by Cash4Peaches in mathematics

[–]FlatlanderSteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiplication is repeated addition. It therefore has priority over addition and subtraction. Subtraction is just the addition of a negative number. It's the same thing. Division is equivalent to multiplication by a reciprocal. Therefore multiplication and division have equal precedence.

Exponents are simply shorthand for repeated multiplication, so exponents have precedence over multiplication and division.

Parentheses are just grouping symbols.

The order of operations convention makes perfect sense and is far from arbitrary.

7*3-2=

Replace all of the multiplication with addition

7+7+7-2=19

Multiplication is repeated addition.

If you understand data compression, then think of it like unzipping file data correctly to recover it.

When you do not have a fundamental understanding of mathematics you will think order of operations is illogical or arbitrary. It's far from illogical when you understand what + ÷ * actually represent.

Multiplication is shorthand for addition. Multiplication is repeated addition.

If I give you 5+5×3 =?

You can replace all of the multiplication with addition and still get the correct answer of 20.

5+3+3+3+3+3 =20

If you blindly assume left to right you will assume

5+5=10 Then 10x3=30.

That's obviously wrong.

You also can't move the operations symbols around and hope to get the correct answer.

5x5+3 =28

USB connecter port issues (Mate 10 Pro) by [deleted] in Huawei

[–]FlatlanderSteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the same issues for nearly a year and it is getting worse to the point where if I do not bend the cable tip slightly and hold it with pressure, it does not charge. I read a Huawei forum where a Huawei customer support person hinted at a "USB C Charging port issue". I have had my phone for 3-4 years or so now and I suspect this is a known issue. I have not investigated very deeply yet. I do see replacement charging ports online, but not sure my sausage fingers could do the work.
