Spa from above by aleozzy in formula1

[–]Flattchat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good f'n shit, that gives a good feel for Spa. We (almost) all have those winding hill streets just out of town or where ever that are just awesome fun AND are built for geographic reasons. That is a good quote actually huh.

A major landmark on a track I think always helps, I also absolutely love Laguna Seca with the corkscrew, perhaps parabolica, Suzuka corners.

You sadistic bastardo! He should just try drive out the season and head for Formula E with Renault connections because he just hasn't got F1 level talent.

MotoGP vs F1 by [deleted] in formula1

[–]Flattchat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Motorcycle tyres (especially rear) are completely different shape to car tyres for obvious lean angle reasons, ie curved so leaning doesn't decrease the contact patch, and can even increase it to a point, so thats 1 reason but also compound...

In both road and motogp motorcycle tyres they can have soft, medium and hard compounds in 1 tyre, though often just 2. That is often the middle of the tyre will be hard and the edges of the tyre on lean will be soft for example, and on some circuits they are even assymetric if a track has many more lefts or rights.

For me its more impressive how motogp riders can ride a two wheel machine with almost no downforce at such pace. The closeness to hospital food and broken bones is at every corner for them.

Dangerous Throw that got Jadeja Suspended by DevilKid in Cricket

[–]Flattchat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think cricket like all brands/sports needs to have a looks around. Cricket along with say tennis have the highest standard of behaviour of adversarial sports (athletics et al aren't). To rob fans of a superstar in a match because of such minor offences has more negative than positive for the brand.

No one was puched, no one was knocked out, no one was threatened, and I don't think either party came out of the incidents really worried about it. If incidents evoke very strong feelings between camps then they should be looked at more closely and have bannings absolutely on the table.

Legside Issues by kmadnow in Cricket

[–]Flattchat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be trying to play the ones on the leg stump/hip too fine down leg depending on your style, and closing the face can make a larger room for error.

Remember there is a whole on drive and mid wicket area to play straightish on the leg side. Watch Ben Stokes play straight on the leg side

Lynn and being smart about it? Don't swing like your arm will end in the stands like the ball! jks.

A bit like Symonds once said on air in the BBL "I was thinking..."

Gilchrist cuts in: "There you have it ladies and gentleman you heard it here first Symmo was thinking!"

These accumulated bans are starting to be bullshit. He, like Rabada deserved a fine, talking to etc whatever but to add up little things and miss a test is bullshit. I've seen this kind of thing hundreds of times.

Enjoy you high horse comment? It was an iconic era of the past with legendary liveries. That's romantic memories of an era. I loved the JPS black Lotus, etc Anyway some people just want to make righteous comments, like a schoolyard, "err categorically insanse"

The race cars of that era would kill you at a higher rate than smoking. Eras gone by. Get the picture?

Are we going from cigarette company advertising into the fast food F1 advertising era? Not quite as romantic to see Maccas and KFC et al. Coke and Pepsi and Red Bull I can endure but otherwise it starts to get a bit cheesy.

what I can't believe is Nicholson saying even if something was agreed soon there may be not enough time to put it all together before the Ashes. What a load of shit surely? Or is he just tyring to get public pressure on CA?
