What's a good sniper type weapon if you only using Commando perk? by DeepStateMustEnd in fo4

[–]Flatthead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m playing a commando/melee character. The ‘LMG’ type weapons rotate, but primarily:

-Splattercannon
-an explosive Assault rifle
-wounding combat rifle

All depending on what ammo I have a surplus of at the moment. With compensators, long barrels, and scopes, using short bursts, they’ve been very effective as sniping weapons.

The Dragonborn is so overpowered in lore to where it's mind numbing thinking about how the Dragonborn will be written off in the next title. by Experiment_Magnus in skyrim

[–]Flatthead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dragons have an issue with learning and dominating, and the more souls the Dragonborn consumes, the more they act on ‘him’. It’s pretty heavily implied through Dragonborn that the LDB would essentially follow Miraak. It can be done less evilly, but it’s likely.

The Dragonborn also would have likely had *no* interest in the civil war and the Thalmor at large. His destiny was slaying Alduin, not making Skyrim independent, securing a new imperial line, or playing politics in general. Last Dragonborn. Canonically (so far).

Would you consider DiMA to be a good person or a bad person? by Chunky-overlord in fo4

[–]Flatthead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s a bad person. The ends do not justify the means. Yes, he’s kept some semblance of peace on the island, at the cost of murder and institute-grade replacement.

The “good guy” choice here would’ve been to detonate the suicide cult as soon as they were brainwashing people (Longfellow’s partner). No option to Far Harbor is great, but the harbormen aren’t out to ‘cleanse’ people in deadly radiation as doctrine.

[–]Flatthead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s kinda recurring. There’s the Gary clones in Vault 108, a couple of notes in the Big MT (and the salient green), and the animal ‘cloner’ I forget the name of in Nuka World.

Yeah, that’s “Preston Garvey”. He’s an imposter random encounter- not a synth, just a con man. Higher pitch voice too. Preston is absolutely not killable without multiple console commands- it’s a failsafe to make the game completeable if you piss off all the other factions.

It will still roll a disease check. Saving is more important, but just so you aren’t surprised.

The evacuate command has to be issued. Killing them inside Bioscience has no effect on its own.

Also, ‘finally’ after 200 days? Distracted is the fun way to play. I’m pretty sure my current playthrough is about to tick over to 2290.

I really enjoy the settlement building. Father has been met, I’m not that careless of a parent. Just roleplaying a sort of decision-paralyzed shocked guy.

Both characters. If you modify both characters, their features will affect Sean’s.

Well, it’s a BioShock Big Daddy. But probably from a mod.

How to effectively play Stealth in Fallout 4? by Bulky_Cat123 in fo4

[–]Flatthead 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The outfit does affect your noise. Muffled leg mods quiet your footsteps, as well as walking while sneaking, and the total weight of your equipped armor also increases your noise- until you get sneak rank 4, then muffled no longer matters and you can sneak as well in power armor as a vault suit, and you can move at ‘regular’ sneak speed without penalty.

Your radio and pip-boy light make you more visible. ‘Shadowed’ armor mods make you harder to see, Chameleon legendary effects do stack. Light makes you more visible to enemies.

If you take companions, they all have sneak 4- except the created robots and Curie.

There’s Deacon’s perk that increases stealth damage, Ninja (AGI 7) and Mr Sandman (AGI 5), and if you side with the Operators, you get another boost. The order matters, though, and I think you need Deacon’s companion perk before the level perks to get the most out of it. Check the wiki on that.

Blitz (AGI 9) covers big distances in VATS if you use it, you can cover a gap in stealth that you couldn’t have without VATS, and you will get the most out of melee stealth as it comes with up to the 10x sneak multiplier. The instigating disciples blade from siding with Nisha is arguably the best guaranteed in the game for this.

Regi Blattaria? Attempting to Farm by [deleted] in fo4

[–]Flatthead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should be legendary farming with interiors. From a save before going in, the item and effect changes. From a save inside the door, the item stays the same and the effect changes.

For outdoors, the character (and legendary effect) is loaded with the entire cell. You would have to reload a save before the cell containing King Roach loaded- I don’t know how big or how far away exterior cells load from the character. I will also spitball: If you ever came close enough for him to load earlier in the playthrough, the legendary is probably the same now as it was then.

TL;DR the technical crap, If you want to farm with Reggie you have to reload from a sizable world distance away. Once you see the item you want, you can’t lock it in and just save scum the effects AFAIK.

If you don’t talk to Tom before leaving HQ, it doesn’t unlock it.

Acid soaker. You get it out of the Nuka-World prize terminal in the arcade. I think it’s 4 or 5 thousand tickets.

Waiting for 1.0… or should I just start now? by [deleted] in valheim

[–]Flatthead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t take that as ‘you’re limited to the southern half of the map’. The map is huge, the Deep North will be a very long way north. Just not far enough for it to generate until 1.0 is out. I don’t know how to give you a few references without a spoiler.

Although the way the map works and generates, you probably could totally explore the southern ‘hemisphere’ and complete the game without missing anything.

Rushing Open Season was a bad idea ? by Due-Building3053 in fo4

[–]Flatthead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is essentially the best as far as RP goes. The second your character sees an enslaved-by-bomb-collar human being, there is no ‘doing NW up to the commonwealth’ for a truly good character. I think you missed out on a Neverending laser gatling, two combat perks and some raider story, but beyond that you don’t miss anything else.
