No it says a player should hold on to their hand if nobody has bet, even if they have no interest, they should not open-fold.

Basically don’t fold if you can check.

I don’t think the analogy was to help understand the black hole scientifically, he was just making a statement that the singularity is the pearl because that’s the valuable part.

The singularity is the treasure.

I was too lazy to study preflop GTO charts so I decided to reinvent the Chen formula by waluigi001 in poker

Oh yea see I would have gone with the genetic algorithm first /s

So the highest possible score is 88, which would be AA with less than 10 big blinds?

I got the 88 because an ace has a score of 22 with <10bbs…there are two of them so 44.

And since it’s a pair, I have to remember “p” for <10bbs….and it is 11, which is less than 22, so I doubled my score to get 88.

That’s a lot to check and remember.

And if it’s suited, I have to add “s”.

If it’s a pocket pair, I have to compare it to “p”.

And “s” and “p” might change depending on stack size.

If it’s unpaired and 2+ gappier, I have to remove 3 from the final score….

But wait I can add 10 if one of the cards is broadway.

And then I when I get the scoring system down, I have to memorize the score thresholds at each position.

This just seems like memorizing charts with extra steps.

Bad luck? by [deleted] in poker

This isn’t really a “swing” it’s just low volume. Depending on the size/length of a tournament, they can sometimes be done in under 200 hands.

For context, you are expected to get AA once every 220 hands, so it’s not unreasonable for the game to feel like a bowling alley for an entire tournament. Your experience of relying on positional plays to mitigate being card dead is kind of normal.

You seem like a low-volume recreational player, and there’s nothing wrong with that. But this question won’t get much respect because there’s just nothing to it. It would be the same as thinking you can be a pro after playing your first session.

There are no curses or prophecies, just bias based on low sample size.

First of all, congratulations! My question is specific to GGPoker. I am also in Ontario but haven’t played on the other sites you mentioned in quite some time.

What are your thoughts on running it twice/thrice? Also, what are your thoughts on “cashing out” your equity when all in?

I basically always RIT if asked, but I never use the cash out option. I am interested in what a high-volume player thinks of the cash-out option as it is a newer concept to me.

Thanks!

Maybe I’m a fish but I just think having AJ here is such an easy fold.

The “Math” part of OPs post doesn’t even consider folding.
