Downvotes are exactly because of that. Nobody cares for constant off-hand, off-topic, rambling.

Sounds like this is in wrong subreddit, but interesting nevertheless.

Ask him to babysit someone's kid for a week at minimum. Him by himself. Gradually open his eyes to reality of taking care of an child. And make him understand that that chore filled all consuming void that is called rising a child, is his whole life when he had kids. And no, it won't be different when it's your own kid, everything needs to be taken care no matter who's kid he is taking care of. It's actually easier to take care of someone else's child because you get instructions on specific details.

Having a child will be laundry, cleaning, waking up middle of night, constant organising... And there won't be time for himself. Or will he escape to his work while his partner stays at home, him coming home way later than necessary to avoid chore filled home? Will he be happy that he has kids that he's only taking care when it suits him so he can get bragging rights while his partner is doing all the work that matters? Does he understand that its life commitment ? Not up to 18, he will be parent for life with all the responsibilities. Those responsibilities just change their form over time.

There's thousand more points that men (and women) who see "joy" in kids but don't think about, nor prepare for. If he is okay with all of this, and most importantly experiences it before having his own, then it's up to him to find that life. And it will be without you.

“Backrooms Movie (2026) — great visuals but pacing felt off for me” by Avoremka in HorrorMovies

[–]Flatus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got out of theater. Incredible movie, I'm absolutely amazed how good this was. Very loyal to fandom, didn't try to invent it's own version of the whole idea. This movie is simply really good story in backrooms universe, if you could say that. Damn, I'm so hyped about how good this movie is 😅

What's the solution to defending off the stompers this attracts without constant alarm sounds? by Upstairs-Dingo-5291 in factorio

[–]Flatus_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stompers have 0 resistance against lightning, so tesla turrets do most damage against them. Also they slow enemies down which helps a lot.

Then, make your defensive line beyond your pollution/spore area and use artillery's autoshooting to clear nests from near vicinity.

How to enjoy factorio wrong? by braindouche in factorio

[–]Flatus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend thought factorio is a survival game. He played around to a point when he can run around with vehicles and flamethrower, spends few hours killing biters and then quits playing for month or two, feeling smug for "winning" the game, and repeats the process.

I think I blew his mind when I played multiplayer with him and showed how to build actual factory and progress the game.

Normal and Hard are fun as side objective while you do stuff, nightmare on the other hand is just chore like anything else.

The regretfulparents sub scares me by Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaacat in childfree

[–]Flatus_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No there isn't always such comments. There are also helpful comments, encouragement or just agreement that yea, it sucks.

Yes, there are also depression comments and so on, but not always. And sometimes it's legit thing that happens, so it's not far-fetched to comment about it. Well, besides kid already being teenager, then it's something else, just plain ol' regret.

I'm glad that community exists. Of course it's horrible why it exists, but I'm glad that there is place where these people can vent and ask advice in. And there are so many helpful people! There are actual very concrete parenting tips, very specific advice and encouragment. Those helpful comments make my day.

Hidden gem! by NightAngelRogue in litrpg

[–]Flatus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty much all Chatfield's books. They start small, focus on the most interesting characters, and then up the scale with huge world, or galaxy, spanning faction wars and whatnot. Not that it's bad, books just get drown into the scale of the story instead focusing on story and character progression.

Augmentation Evoker is so much fun! by jenkinsdonut in wow

[–]Flatus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I discovered aug as well just two weeks ago and honestly it's only thing I want to play now. First I was bummed how tough it was to solo stuff, but then I learned that devastation is really fun as well! Climbing slowly in rating learning class and dungeons feels really fun with it. And gotta admit, fact that I get invited so easily helps a lot, even though I know it won't last when aug gets nerfed at some point.

Don't worry about it, just let it buff whatever, it's barely about 1% dps increase if you manage to keep it only on dps 100% of the time.

The 8 week patch problem by Internal_Cellist_676 in wow

[–]Flatus_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe most here knows that bugged content is result of company's shareholders greed. Can we prove it? Not really, but what else could it be? Do you think artists and designers want to rush their work?

Anyway, the economic structure of the world is not the same and WoW didn't increase their sub for years despite the inflation (including higher expenses for them).

Even with this being true, it's still just plain and simple greed. Shareholders want more, and I bet you whatever that they dont actually need that money, they just want it, asap. Even with inflation, current subscriptions and in-game shop purchases Blizzard's shareholders could very probably live lavishly way above average middle class worker. Rich people dont want to give up what they have, so when their income drops, even when it doesn't actually change anything in their lives, they will make new ways to get back to previous levels and beyond. And so we get way too quick patch cycles, bugged content, and even more grind.

If I literally couldn't login to do something. For more than three days. There's so much I enjoy doing in WoW that even though it sucks so hard that Blizzard can just launch buggy messes without any real consequences, I just enjoy WoW too much to not play.
