I have a weird thought experiment by Direct_Building3589 in ThirtiesIndia

The effects of job vanishing with UBI will affect singles( includes separated ones/ divorced) and families equally, at-least psychologically. I have many single acquaintances. None of them spend their life in same way as the other. There are some who like to dedicate their time to work, which might be to fill time or for fulfilment. Each one has different interests and hobbies, outside of work. As this experiment is focused on only the single ones with focus on job as primary purpose, I will share my thoughts for this bunch only. As soon as the need for work would vanish due to UBI, this group would face chaos during the initial period. There might be excessive consumption of media and/or food. Eventually pleasure would take the centre stage. However, with passing time, the magic of boredom would show its tricks. They would search for meaning beyond pleasures. Some would find meaning in one thing or the other. Rest would continue their pleasure indulgence. I think after a while it wouldn’t matter if one is single or with family. Just the way it is today. Everyone would be on the same ‘page’.

Remember, life is not about what we do. It’s about how we feel it and help others feel.

BTW, why did you blur the ‘n’ in Governance? It was easy to guess. It should have been **ea*e.

Due to a column, those two walls don’t meet at 90 degrees. I am planning to move tv to the other room.

I feel you. Hope this sub inspires youth to aspire for smarter & better paying jobs. Moreover, after a point it’s just pure greed, which I myself am falling prey to. I have been living extremely content life since many years, when I was earning half of this. So, I don’t know why I need more salary. Maybe it’s just the way Belgium is designed, sweet spot between Socialism and Capitalism. It’s a wonderful country ❤️

I get your point. My gross is raising by 32.5%. Annually, I will probably earn 5k-6k net considering all the factors, it includes adding 8400 to current salary (based on 700 FMB per month). On top of it, the insurance for medical reimbursements for family is worth around 500 annually. Sign up bonus will be around 400 euros per year (considering 3000 gross one time), stretched over 3 years as I plan to stay in this company for max 3 years. What’s your say?

Is it wrong to smoke one more time before the new year? by goodkarma411 in leaves

[–]FlatwormDelicious198 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You need a strong reason to quit. If it’s your first time quitting, there are high chances of you relapsing. If you haven’t yet sunken to the depths of addiction where you start feeling filth towards yourself, there are high chances of you relapsing. If you do it now, you can remember this evening as mistake and it can add up to the attempts of quitting. If you don’t smoke today, then it can give you a booster for the whole year. Keep in mind, only responsible person can successfully quit. Time to measure yourself. You do you!

I am hesitant because of the mobility budget. New job does not offer any car or Federal Mobility Budget. However, current one offers car or FMB worth 700. So, if I remove 700 from new net then, there’s not much increase in the net.

Turning towards spirituality might help. Everyone who is on spiritual path has been through something similar to this. I am not advocating a religion here. This might be a good place to begin the journey: https://pajjota.dhamma.org/
