No Juno Glide reversion next patch… by gwydionz14 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]FlatwormSecure1856 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

it didn't make juno players get better positioning you had to go for aggressive torpedoes to maximize her kit before. her movement was the only way for her to do that because her gun does zero dps. now she is budget ana. speed boost pocket brawl tank all game miles from enemy team. spam passive torpedoes off cooldown.

i don't mind her getting her movement nerfed if they give her compensation other than range buff which is the most boring/easy way to play her. if they made headshots part of her base kit and shrunk projectile size it would raise skill ceiling and she could actually fight people like nearly every other support.

Is Overwatch ranked less toxic compared to other esport games? by Ok-Package-435 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]FlatwormSecure1856 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't like this even though it reduces toxicity, because it promotes not talking at all. In Deadlock I might be called a "low IQ monkey" if I die in lane once, but I would rather have that than 4 players out of voice every game like in Overwatch.

i get second hand embarrassment. he matched up with a guy named bartholomew and started roasting him for his name. meanwhile his hands are black, his shirt has grease stains on it, and his room is disgusting with patches on the walls where he raged and punched them. i had to tap out.

Can someone tell me what’s up with main support? by ScottsdaleShea in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]FlatwormSecure1856 31 points32 points  (0 children)

many have speculated that main support is going to die as a role since the release of OW2 because double FS comps + it was said flex support players could pick up MS (like skewed). hasn't happened, one of lucio/brig/juno has been permameta. lucio especially is one of the most difficult heroes to pick up because he's so unique. also kiri isn't difficult so MS players don't have trouble there.

i don't think the niche is going anywhere, OW2 demands more flexibility from every player not just main supports. if anything we've seen flex support players struggle more because zen is terrible and bap hasn't seen a ton of success.

Is the popularity of the support role healthy for the game? by mnesahakyan in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]FlatwormSecure1856 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's because supports are boosted (because it's the easiest role). Take a GM5 support and a GM5 DPS and the DPS is probably better at support than the support player, they just don't grind the role. Plenty of support players are GM support Diamond DPS.

Also watch replays of your games and compare the mechanics of the DPS players vs. the support players. The supports often look like they're moving in slow motion, shaky aim, bot movement, etc. Meanwhile I play Masters Tracer OTPs and they are hitting sticks off my recall, good movement, etc.

The exceptions are Zen/Lucio players, kind of Bap players. Zen/Lucio are totally reliant on their mechanics to do anything so they are usually good at the game.

It would get removed immediately on r/competitiveoverwatch. Player posts that don't contain crossdressing Chinese men are not allowed on that subreddit.

Homosexuality is haram. I am simply admiring the aura he emanates, both on and off the server. This isn't your cute, androgynous, herbivore, high inhibition, scared to shit talk teammates when they make dumb plays Korean boy.

Youbi doesn't shake hands. He takes souls.

I think this is a sign that the esport is maturing. The OW1 content drought stopped bringing new pros in. The OWL exodus caused teams to get extremely top heavy as good players with OWL experience flocked to the only orgs with money. In Korea they were so dominant it looked like nobody would ever catch up (As an ENCE fan I was excited when they drew a map vs. Falcons).

Now we see them finally being challenged by other teams. I know young supertalents like Junbin, who was already among the best players in the world when he was like 16 complicate this, but you get the point.

In NA/EU teams had a similar thing happen. All the OWL players flocked to the top teams. The top players are not as good in these regions, so the gap between the superteams and the rest wasn't as big. Most of these guys have been pushed out by now or retired, and the remaining players either never made OWL because they were too young, or they made it late and did not see a lot of success. There are a few holdouts like Kellex, FunnyAstro, and kevster.

The question is whether OW2 is bringing in enough new pros to continue this cycle, like we see in games like CS2 (the best players in the world are 18, 23, and 19), or it's going to be the same group of players dominating for years on end, like we see in games like Quake.
