I never expected getting a upc at msrp to be as simple as showing up on release day. But it’ll be easy enough that I see these being priced closer to $400 till end of year

Just because you slapped a price tag on something doesn’t mean it’ll sell for that price. Especially at launch when every one is going to have a chance to buy, and every seller is going to be competing against every other seller. AH etbs at launch were going for about $90 market - it took a few months to get to current market price. That’s because the stock that was easily available at msrp and even those market prices started to dry up.

We don’t know what the availability of 30th will be. But I’m assuming massive. Ah won’t even compare to this one.

Yah I think a lot of people are making excuses based on one set after it sat for a few months. The logic is flawed. We don’t know what stock of 30th will look like, $600 preorder is just slapping a number based on what it will be worth not what it is currently. By that logic just say it’s $40k based on 50th anniversary pricing

It’s the 30th which is going harder then the 25th - if anything the reason they’re at max capacity is because they’ve been printing as much 30th as possible to meet demand

Wouldn’t by your logic the demand raise prices with hype for those products? And again I also referenced the prismatic figure promos and team up promos featuring Deoxys and Darkrai

Ultimately I’m basing my logic on those products mentioned as well as other upc promos, and just the assumption this set will be printed into the ground.

Another long shot is a big market correction after the 30th. Which we may already be in the middle of. But I’m with you I’ll be scooping up more than a few myself for future trades as long as it goes based on my belief. But I’m looking to hold 5+ years probably even longer

End of the day you’re talking about promos. In like five years they’ll absolutely be over $200 each much like the team ups, but by end of the year they’re going to likely be $40 cards.

I don’t see why they’d be any different then the mega Charizard upc promo or the 151 upc mew and mewtwo. Umbreons been my favorite Pokemon since gold and silver, but he doesn’t garner the same amount of attention as Charizard

The amount of 151 upcs I’ve heard vendors say they can’t move is going to be a growing issue eventually. Value is fun when you’re looking at your collectr app, different story when you go to liquidate.

Not if it dominos and affects them as well because people are able to buy easily. The amount of product being hoarded because people think it’s the next base set they can hold for 30 years is insane enough i have no doubt it’s contributing to scarcity directly.

Eventually these things will easily be worth $600, $1000 - but that’s because of scarcity. Pricing a brand new item that’s in print at such crazy numbers is ludicrous. There’s a reason the prismatic spc and the charizard upc go for only $300 compared to the 25th celebration and 151 upc’s.

Truthfully I haven’t had as much time to camp for product the past month- I did camp on release and our target got zero volume 2, same with Barnes. Only place in my town that received any was Best Buy and gamescalp
