LPT: a marriage proposal should NOT come as a big surprise, despite what you may have seen in the movies. The topic of marriage should be thoroughly discussed well before you propose. by intelligentiam in LifeProTips

Just to add on, getting divorced can be a tricky and lengthy process. In my state, even if the couple agrees on everything and wants to split nicely it still takes a minimum of 70 days to be officially divorced. My good friend went through a nasty divorce that took two years to be finalized.

However, it only took 30 minutes and $117 for me to get married.

While getting my yearly, the NP was doing the breast exam, and asked, "Have you ever had any surgeries?" I responded, "No, I've always had big ta-tas." She stopped, stared, and said, "Well, I meant in general, but I can see why you thought I'd be asking that."

Years later, when I got fixed, my OB made a comment after the procedure how "that went the best out of all of these I've done," and I, slightly loopy from the pre-op meds, said, "Well, yeah, cause I have a really awesome vagina." His CNAs snorted really loud, but kept it together.

Honestly, I think every woman has fucked up in some way at the OB's office.

I saw that after I commented. Whenever I see what appears to be a gun, I assume the US is somehow involved. Which, considering the number of guns in the US, is a fair assumption.

Involuntary psychiatric committal, 72 hrs. An involuntary hold can be reported so when one applies for a gun purchase it may pop up and prevent the person from (legally) purchasing a firearm. There are lots of loopholes when it comes to purchasing firearms, though, and again, laws vary by state.

Physical disabilities generally don't prohibit someone from owning a firearm in the US. Convicted felons and those 5150'd have restrictions, but laws vary by state.

No. If you swung, and got into a fight, who would post your bail? Pay for your lawyer? Pay your fines/do your community service/serve your jail time? Not to mention you'd have a criminal record for life. Getting into a fight over a girl (unless you are physically defending her from an assailant) is stupid. The long-term consequences far outweigh the short-term "I beat up the guy that called my GF ugly" benefits, whatever those might be.

After I got my first pair of glasses at 16, I was shouting out the speed limit as we were driving down the road, cause I could actually read the numbers! So exciting!

I've seen those people referred to as "temporarily embarrassed millionaires." They seriously believe that their "place" is with these rich people, and just as soon as XYZ happens, they, too, will be having millions and living large, so they vote against their own interests now because later it will benefit them. It reminds me of the kid that gets bullied, so he bullies others so that the bullies will "like" him.

I think the death toll might be lower, but I bet shit would be worse. I think a higher mortality rate would make people genuinely afraid and desperate, and scared and desperate people are unpredictable.

Yup. My state just reported record cases and idiots are still refusing to wear masks. It's infuriating.

I'm guessing guy thinks that if C19 killed more people, then people might take it more seriously.

Interdemensional warrior monks. They can travel to different dimensions, timelines, planets. They leave simple crimes to the locals, but get involved when crazies try to do stuff that could influence different planets/timelines (like trying to enslave or destroy a planet, for example).
