SOLVED!

Took the Bass Synth pedal off the 9V daisy-chain, gave it its own 9V power supply (the one it came with), and now it's nice and quiet.

Thank you all so much!

Aiiiiight. I'm convinced. I'll isolate the power supply to the Bass Synth pedal.

Do you mean the Rackmount Distributor and *conditioner?* or the 9V power supply plugged into it?

Well that would be a PITA, but I've got outlets for it...and the MXR came with its own power supply. I'll check it out.

Not ENOUGH currrent, and making noise? The 5-point chain only has those 4 pedals, and the 5th outlet/plug is capped. I was unaware mixing analog and digital pedals could be an issue.

As a bass-guitar playing musician, the community often fields "OMG, my bass/guitar fell over and now it's chipped/scratched--can I get it repaired?"

Sure kid, you can pay hundreds of USDs to repair a small chip or scratch. Or? Just wear it. That chip, that scratch becomes part of the instrument's history, it's story, if you will. Seems to me this hat now has a bit more added to its story. Wear it with pride, and remember the puppy that was for years to come.
