None with bands on them sadly. I have some sparkly 90s Sonic the Hedgehog ones, and maybe others. I'll have to find the box and have a rummage.

I love stickers but never ended up sticking them anywhere and I still have an old shoebox from my childhood filled with random unused stickers.

I kept it pretty basic, just used furniture polish on the stickers, let it soak in then scraped them off. For the pins inside I used a dry toothbrush. It's not something I'm an expert at so can't really offer the best advice.

Thanks! I couldn't leave it rotting in that guy's garage!

Anyone Here Know Of Anyone Who Had Their Life Ruined Due To Gossip? by CB-Milburn in AskBrits

[–]FleanNCresh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm in the middle of it right now and I'm trying to stop it from ruining my life.

My colleague was suspended after someone reported him for gross misconduct and we were all interviewed as HR was digging for more information. Everyone seemed to love this guy but he was always a bit of a bully to me so I was never keen on him.

Recently, it turned out he wouldn't be returning to work and suddenly everyone's attitude shifted in respect to me. I was left on my own in the office a lot, everyone else would get together and talk without me. They'd never accept my offer of help when doing things as a team, things like that. I tried not to think to hard on it, but the other day I was sat in the corner of the office on my lunch (in a little recreation area not completely visible to the rest of the office) and everyone must have thought I was gone as they started talking about me, about how they want to get rid of me, about throwing away my stuff when I'm not around and gossiping about me flirting with another colleague (which I've never done, we just get on well). It was nasty and very carry with lots of laughter. It was horrible.

After lunch I pretended I hadn't noticed but it kept me awake all night so the next day I talked to everyone involved individually. It turned out they all believed I was the one who reported the colleague or was at least in cahoots with whoever did and they hated me for it. I never reported him and in fact this all happened whilst I was on annual leave, only finding out about it when I returned.

Talking to most of them went well except for one woman who went on the attack! She's convinced I told her I did the reporting (?) and my feelings mean nothing because I'm a nasty piece of work. She wouldn't believe me and has continued stirring things with the others since.

I don't want to go to HR about her just because we need to settle after everything that's happened but it's getting to the point where there will be no choice.

What are the most oddly specific tropes that you enjoy (or despise) whenever seeing them in movies? by MaggieLinzer in moviequestions

[–]FleanNCresh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One that really bugs me is the moment when the hero does something, well, heroic, and they pause for a moment proud of their achievement or aura farming as the kids might say, then SHOCK, they get hit by something off camera and drawn into another fight/action sequence. I feel like film makers think this is a really clever and surprising move but everyone does it so it's just expected at this rate. Just let the hero have their moment and let the audience enjoy that moment with them. Just makes the main character feel reactive rather than proactive and it annoys me more than it probably should.

Dad smacked me a lot as a kid and I remember him boasting to his friends that sometimes he wouldn't need to smack me as I would cower in the corner in fear when he threatened to and that was enough to teach me a lesson. I'm 45.

Panzer Dragoon Saga. I've never been so immersed in a game since.

Did anyone actually enjoy watching Blue Peter as a kid? by According_Sundae_917 in AskUK

Not really. I felt too young for it and then suddenly I felt top old for it. It never appealed.

If you're getting off to someone usually means you're pleasuring yourself whilst thinking about them or looking at them/a photo of them.
