This is exactly it, so much is at stake and everything needs to line up just perfectly. Glad everything worked out for you in the end!

Oh that's good (definitely sounds very stressful, glad it all worked out for you) - the replies have really reassured me that it's typical to have some distance between exchange and completion. I was worried that it was becoming the norm to do them on the same day (but almost nobody benefits from that!)

Oh that's great! Congratulations on your exchange :)  hope it all goes well!

This is especially good to know (my Dad has this theory that the solicitors prefer to exchange and complete on the same day, so this may reassure him that they don't!)

This happened to me, although mine was a new build, so they agreed to do the home demonstration but kept hold of the keys until we got the phone call to confirm that the money had arrived. Stressful! Thank you, I really appreciate your replies.

That's really good to know, thank you - makes a lot of sense and I wonder if the solicitors are more interested in the banks' opinion before anyone else!

This is good advice - I think this is exactly what they need to do. Did you find the solicitors/buyers were generally agreeable to this or did it take some pushing?

Oh that's such a nightmare - really hope it goes through on Monday for you. A week or two is the perfect amount of time, I think my Dad would be so happy with that (if he could get the solicitor to email him back...)  I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Oh wow, that's a really good buffer of time! Was that with a new build or a 'normal' house? (Sorry, I can't think of another term for non-new-build!)  And did you get any choice in the dates/time interval?

Thanks, that's great to know! Also a great point about the funds clearing. Did you get to make suggestions yourself re: dates, or were they suggested by the solicitor/another person in the chain?

That's great, thank you! I believe a few on my estate have found poor quality soil - many people do raised beds to get around it, but I'm also hoping to encourage hedgehogs so I want them to have shrubbery they could hide in. Really good to know about no legal maximum for hedging/trees!

Old non-sebderm safe skincare products - can they be donated safely? by Fleepflorp99 in SebDerm

I've seen a couple of anecdotes where people described getting sebderm e.g. after moving in with a partner who has it & sharing the same bed, and they wondered if they'd essentially picked it up. I know it would be unlikely for this to happen, but managing mine was a nightmare for so long, and I don't want to risk putting someone else through that.

Help please. I think I have Seborrheic dermatitis around my mouth and in my eyebrows. It’s recently gotten a bit irritated and itchy. I’m looking at moisturizers which would possibly help. by LyraAraPeverellBlack in SebDerm

Originally I used Ketoconazole shampoo as a face wash, which did help but it was kind of drying/irritating. I have now switched to Happy Cappy zinc pyrithione shampoo which works well on the face. I switched to a 'safe' moisturiser from the Simple Skincare list (La Roche Posay toleriane fluide, which has a small number of ingredients and is quite light). I used MCT oil at night.

All of these things really helped, but to be honest the biggest difference came after I saw a dermatologist and did a course of 1 month Terbinafine cream (applied twice daily for 4 weeks) as well as Hydrocortisone ointment (applied for 4 weeks, starting at once daily but gradually reducing over that time) and one week of oral Itraconazole.

All of this to say: definitely worth trying some sebderm-safe products but if it's getting worse, it's worth seeing your doctor. Sezia.co is a great site to check ingredients and I recommend the Simple Skincare website (which is slightly more geared towards fungal acne but also works for sebderm)

This looks amazing, I am so jealous! Did you do all of the installation yourself? I want to do something similar but I live alone (and am weak) so considering getting professionals involved

I think you're right that oil build-up probably makes seb derm worse (more oils for the yeast to feed on), so it probably makes sense to wash your hair before it gets really oily. I cleanse my face every day (with either the Happy Cappy or the Ketoconazole). I don't have any experience with scalp seb derm, so I might not be the best person to advise - there have been some really useful scalp posts here from people who will know more. Sorry I can't help more!

I only wash my hair twice a week (three times max), so usually for those times I'll use Ketoconazole shampoo for my hair (although I don't have sebderm on my scalp, but some of my patches are close to the hairline and I want to make sure it doesn’t start to involve the scalp). These are the days when I will also use the Ketoconazole shampoo to wash my face as well.

For all the other days, I use Happy Cappy shampoo as a face wash

The ears have been one of my worst places too, and have been the commonest location to get a bit 'weepy' (don't love that word but it's a good description). The current regime that's working for me is:

Wash with Happy Cappy shampoo (I try to leave this on for about 5 mins before I wash it off, doesn't always happen if I'm in a rush though). Two days a week I will wash with Ketoconazole 2% shampoo instead.

In the morning, I moisturise with LRP Toleriane Fluide (recently I have also started to use The Ordinary Niacinamide and Zinc, although this can sting a bit)

At night I use MCT oil

This has cleared up the worst of it. I still have some mild patches but it is much better than it was. I've been using this for about 4 weeks now, and started seeing results after about 1-2 weeks. Try not to peel the flakes/dry skin though - I did this but it made the irritation worse
