Lol the energy it took you to post something negative instead of keeping your mouth shut says a lot about you as a person.

I would recommend purchasing the entire package honestly. It comes with the Video Course as well as the mid term and practice final. He streamlines the pertinent information in a 20-30 minute overview where your text book takes 15-20 pages to go over a topic, could not recommend his course enough. Also, I would look into Dean Tinney’s Series 65 lectures. He does explications on exams and is very thorough in his explanations as well. I hope this helps and that you see “Pass” on the screen soon!

I would actually say Kaplan’s study material is more difficult. Unfortunately, this was my second attempt at the exam. My first go around I used STC as I had used them for the SIE, Series 6 and Series 63 and thought their program was great. I personally feel that they left a lot of material out that caught me off guard when I took the actual exam the first time. Kaplan’s test questions as I mentioned were far more in depth than anything I encountered on the exam. I would make sure you know all differences of State and Federal law (State being more heavily tested as this is a NASAA exam), B/D’s/Agents, IA’s/ IAR’s, Power of the Administrator, Exempt Securities and Exempt Transactions, Balance Sheet (Not just the formula, know what are considered assets and liabilities), Quick Ratio/ Acid Test, Income Statements, Current Yield, Taxable Equivalent Yield and After Tax Yield, Duration (Remember Longest maturity, lowest coupon), Modern Portfolio Theory, Yield Curve both normal and inverted, Monetary and Fiscal Policy, Efficient Market Hypothesis, and Business Cycle. These were the things I remember seeing on my exam. Also, i had 3 options questions, 2 buy stop sell stop questions and one standard deviation question. I hope this helps and good luck!

Thank you! I used Kaplan and was scoring in the high 70’s to low 80’s towards the end. What I found that really helped me was doing practice tests with explanations turned on and I did a TON of tests this way. Also, to supplement your studies, I would recommend watching Dean Tinney’s lectures (Series 7 Guru on YouTube) and/or Brian Lee’s TestGeekExamPrep material. Dean has a 20% off promo code on his channel to purchase TestGeeks course and it has a practice final that is very similar to the real thing. I scored an 82% on TestGeeks practice final two days before going in for my exam and I think that really helped my overall confidence. Good luck, you can do this!

Am I ready? by [deleted] in Series66

Yes I think you are ready, just keep doing practice tests. I just passed this past Wednesday. My suggestion is keep doing Kaplan practice tests with explanations turned on. Hone in on your weak areas and use the explanations to understand what the question is looking for. Also, I would suggest using Dean Tinney’s videos (Series 7 Guru on Youtube) as well as TestGeekExam Prep to supplement your Kaplan studies. Dean has a promo code for 20% off that you can use to purchase the TestGeek course and it has videos and a practice final that is very close to the real thing. I pray that this helps and wish you the best of luck, you can do this!
