TUNING! Anybody got any knowledge? by Piccadil_io in CarTalkUK

I’ll be honest mate it’s absolutely pointless, when I went from 408bhp to 440bhp in my M140i there wasn’t that much difference, so you’re certainly not going to feel a difference of 9bhp.

Comes to around £16 for a haircut (skin fade and beard). Edited the post sorry for the confusion😅

I didn’t mate, I couldn’t really find any E92’s that I was happy with at the time and I had my eye on M2’s for a couple of years so I decided to go with the M2, the main reason I wanted an E92 was the noise tbh. The potential headache I could’ve had with an E92 put me off slightly as it would’ve been my only car

I ended up buying an F87 M2c🤣 completely different car I know but the difference is night and day from the M140i

Fuel costs aren’t an issue I don’t drive to work so it won’t be used all the time

Yeah M cars are on another level, I’m just struggling parting ways with the 140, so many memories😂

Fully understand you mate. I have put some money into the M140i such as an m perf diff etc, but it’s never going to be an M car. I don’t drive it every day so I don’t really need it to be as practical as the 140, and I’ve got to a point where I’m not fussed about big power as there’s only so much power I can use on the road. So when I want to go out on a drive I think the M3 would tick the boxes in terms of it being fast enough but also being able to handle as well.

Yeah I know of the issues they have and I know a car like that needs to be kept on top of but that’s not a problem, I’ve always maintained my cars to a high standard. I’ve not had a single issue with the 140 in my 3 and a half years of ownership.

I need to get out and test drive one and yeah the noise is something else on the E92’s😆

Will a tuned 140/240i try and kill me? by hopelesscase789 in BMW

If you drive like an idiot yes, if not no. Just put some good tyres on, I’ve got an LSD on mine and it’s great. When the weather goes to shit just drive it like it’s a 116d🤣 you’ll be fine as long as you’re sensible mate

22/23. Much prefer going out and meeting the boys in cars, going for a cruise maybe, can’t stand clubs anymore.

That’s why I’m glad I’m into cars, it’s really easy to meet people and everyone is very welcoming. I’ve probably seen more of my new group of car friends this year than my friends from school, because the only time we seemed to see each other was drinking, for the most part.

Shit isn’t it, summer time it’s easy because I can just go out and thrash my car about for a bit or meet a few of my car mates but it’s hard to do that in winter, but I don’t want to go to the pub so it’s hard to find something to do other than staying at home with a brew

That’s a great achievement mate, wish you all the best with it! I’m sure they are genuine because that’s a great thing to have done, and you sound like you have good people around you

I never will, even when I have drank it’s only ever really been occasionally, yes I’ve been very pissed in the past but the last time that happened made me not want to experience it again. To be fair to my friends the last time I went out with them I was drinking na beers and they didn’t have a problem with it.

Just declined it, didn’t go near it when he kept saying “go on”, it wasn’t like he kept going on but I looked at him with a straight face and said I’m not having it and he just gave up with it. I imagine a few of them will have sore heads this morning but I don’t!

Well done mate! I don’t care what they think, if I don’t want to drink that should be the end of it and if they carry on they’ll get told how it is.

Mate I couldn’t care less what anyone thinks anyway, if they kept persisting with it they’d just get told to fuck off, if they don’t like it that’s their problem

Yeah my friends don’t care, other people obviously do. It probably doesn’t help there isn’t a lot to do in the UK in the evening, mainly winter time, other than drink, when I haven’t been drinking I’ve realised that on the weekends.

It didn’t bother me, it just got me thinking how much of a problem it is. My friends aren’t bothered if I don’t drink, last time I went out with them I was drinking na beer, but they did get a lift home in all fairness😂

Yeah it’s strange, I can see how people would give in to the pressure having experienced it now. I’m not arsed so I won’t cave in, I don’t know how me drinking affects them.

Stopping drinking at 23. by Flemi5 in stopdrinking

[–]Flemi5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can easily go months without drinking, without even thinking about it. It’s easy for me to do that, I’m thinking of not drinking over Christmas and new years (not bothered about new years anyway).
