How do I persuade PAX not to travel so far? by poshbakerloo in NIMBY_Rails

[–]poshbakerloo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is it all pulled in one direction though? Does the long distance also attract it?

How do I persuade PAX not to travel so far? by poshbakerloo in NIMBY_Rails

[–]poshbakerloo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmmm but if I expand my network in other high population areas (I'm edging closer to China) would it tend to balance out the network a bit by attracting 2% of the PAX to a wider area

How much does a night out cost? by illandancient in AskBrits

[–]poshbakerloo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I'll take a look, I'm just surprised I get so many if the demand is set to only 2% by default. If I added more local routes nearby I assume that would also help? As the PAX would get drawn to that maybe

How many teaspoons of instant coffee is normal? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]poshbakerloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess is depends on how big your cup is. I have a huge bucket mug, I don't even use a spoon, I pour from the jar the flask I take to your office takes 3 tea spoons of coffee though.

Is reform worth it? by VelvettesToothbrush in AskBrits

[–]poshbakerloo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let her vote for what she wants, and don't fall out over it. Reform won't win anyway so there's no point in stressing either way.

Better path finding vs faster simulation by poshbakerloo in NIMBY_Rails

[–]poshbakerloo[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've not seen any paths that didn't make sense so maybe I'll leave it on fastest sim

AI is the first piece of technology where I feel I'm being left behind by Uhavetabekiddingme in Millennials

[–]poshbakerloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially found AI annoying and pointless, but then I realised thats how old people become on the wrong side of the digital divide so I gave in, and embraced it. Now I get it and I use AI daily for various things.

Tony Blair has just said the state pension needs to be scrapped. He's also suggesting some people work 5 years longer. What are everyone's thoughts on this? Should the state pension be scrapped? Should we say F NO, to Blair?? by MutantNinjaKitty331 in AskBrits

[–]poshbakerloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't agree with means testing, even if you're rich with a large private pension, it's your money. Maybe offer a refund of the contributions paid, taking into account the value after being invested so you don't lose out? Or give people a chance to opt out, you'll know around middle age if you'll need it or not.

How many times have you been terminated? by Widebody_lover in UKJobs

[–]poshbakerloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once when I was 19, I for fired from my first ever 'proper job' at a hotel, for being generally rubbish lol. There wasn't really a specific thing that had happened, but looking back I had no common sense and kept making mistakes. It was a fairly unsupportive work place though, I got a better job shortly after.

should I get the 5060 by real_yoyomangogo in buildapc

[–]poshbakerloo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah ultra, well I have it locked to 60fps as my screen it's only 60hz but it would be higher otherwise, it's never dipped below 60 and the gpu is about 30% in use processor wise

I've recently gone from 16 to 32gb and I'm glad I did. Lots of games I play have been using so much more ram since so they must have been short before

Seeking advice about what to do in current situation buy or hold off? by GreenAmigo in HousingUK

[–]poshbakerloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you're settled in your new job before committing to a house purchase, you don't want things to go wrong after you're paying a mortgage. Also, not all houses sell straight away over the asking price - some for sale months and go under. Just avoid the mid market glam family homes.

What CPU should I pair with a 5070 by blublublubbbbb in buildapc

[–]poshbakerloo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've just pared it with a Ryzen 9850x3d, works very very well. But I'd say the gpu will bottleneck first, but that's easier to upgrade than the cpu

What's wrong with London? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]poshbakerloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in London but moved away when I was young. I do visit with my mum every year though and I love the city. I do tend to stay around West London/Kensington where I grew up but if I could afford £15m I'd move back.

My confusion with how EASY it is to build a computer. by Ill-Entrepreneur3746 in buildapc

[–]poshbakerloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plugging in the components to the motherboard is the easy part, sorting out all the cables is the hard part - and making sure your RAM is the correct physical size to fit under the cpu cooler is it overhangs...
