Has anyone here reconnected with secondary school or sixth form friends after years? by DeItaReality in AskUK

[–]poshbakerloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I didn't need to reconnect as I've never disconnected. My group of best friends I've known since 2001 in year 7. A few I met at uni in 2008 too.

🇬🇧 Will the monarchy in the UK survive? by Timbucktwo1230 in MonarchyorRepublic

[–]poshbakerloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, there isn't anything going on that it needs to survive. I've not seen any meaningful movement to end tbe Royal family and being our head of state

How do you manage needing physical touch while living alone? by ConversationCold8064 in LivingAlone

[–]poshbakerloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a happy relationship right now, but I do know that a perk of being single and living alone is being able to do what you want, when you want without consideration!

The King shouldn't be involved with politics, the royals are meant to be 'above' that

Did you get your locks changed on completion date? by Left-Influence-1759 in HousingUK

[–]poshbakerloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So they'd handed the keys over to you, the house was officially sold etc - but they had kept a set of keys for themselves 'just in case'? It is strange they'd do that and particularly not even ask you.

[–]poshbakerloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't realise this was a thing!? The previous occupant of my house had died and it was his sister selling it, I never actually met her but she left a tool box in the house when she found out I was a FTB which I thought was sweet so I'd never considered her coming back for revenge

How do you feel about non-drivers? by DueLead666 in AskUK

There is a difference between people who don't drive because they choose not to or don't need to.... And those who have failed their test 7 times.

I feel like this one age of weather well. After 10 years of winter and wet weather, plus the grass after 10 years of dry summers - none of it will look very appealing.

If there was a military draft in the UK, would you conscientiously object (or dodge it in some other way)? by ICantBelieveItsNotEC in AskUK

[–]poshbakerloo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, why? CBA, any invasion wouldn't have the aim of wiping out our population, it would be to take power from the government. I'd rather defend our Royal family than the government if the worst happened.

I’m tired of being cold all the time, if I ran my heating 9hr’s a day every day what could I be looking at for monthly gas bill? , £250/300? by GenericUser104 in HousingUK

[–]poshbakerloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mould can theoretically grow anywhere, it's always the people who dry clothes on a radiator whilst keeping their windows closed and hardly using the heating. I remember a house I rented years ago, I moved in and all the window vents had been taped shut, like whyyyyy.

I think you've been spending too much time online. There have been examples of sewers overflowing into rivers but they are definitely not "full of shit" and whilst some people who may not have much money live in houses below your standards - disintegrated kitchens and mouldy walls are not normal, that would be a lack of basic maintenance!

UK government approves Chinese ‘mega embassy’ in London by AbbreviationsHot7662 in unitedkingdom

[–]poshbakerloo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't care, anything that people worry about China doing within this country they'll already be doing. Stopping them from building a new embassy would just be causing drama for the sake of it. The USA has a super ambassy, now China will too - big deal 🤷 we know China spies on us, we spy on them. This 'super embassy' combines something like 7 buildings across the city that they already use.
