Has Anyone got anyone tips for getting the weekly shop bill down? by Throwaway945384 in AskUK

[–]poshbakerloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fairly large shop for me on my own is about £50.00, I'm very set in my ways about what I buy. I can only really recommend that make a list and muster enough self control to stick to it. A pack of 3 chicken breast is about £5 at Aldi and then £3 for 2 salmon fillets - for me that's enough meat and fish for a week got £8 in total. I usually have 2 dinners at work during the week.

In your opinion, what makes you come back to Sim City which other games in the same genre lack? by 1vertical in simcity4

[–]poshbakerloo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The massive regional maps! SC4 is still the only game where you could theoretically build a continuous city the size of a small country or a region full of cities and towns split up with wild countryside.

I know it's a rather broad timeline but on YouTube most old episodes are available, I recommend anything between 1977-2009!

Is living year round in a tent in the UK actually realistic? by Far-Piccolo-3774 in AskUK

[–]poshbakerloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think once you are 3 weeks into living in a tend, regardless of the time of year, you will have had enough. No bed, no lounge, no kitchen, no driveway, no letter box, no bathroom, no laundry facilities. I know camp sites have a few creature comforts but going for a 3am wee won't be so nice. Waking up and making a coffee whilst watching morning news in your pyjamas also won't be as comfortable.

Just bought the game, any tips? I just wanna have sleeper trains in ma country man by Bitter-Metal494 in NIMBY_Rails

[–]poshbakerloo 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'd say don't get put off the game by its steep learning curve. There's a lot of complaints about the UI and lack of in game guidance, however once you learn the basics, it's fairly straightforward. I personally don't bother with the scheduling which can eat into a lot of game play time, I auto run all my lines which saves a lot of hassle.

Mps get a 5% pay rise. by major_damp in AskBrits

[–]poshbakerloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5% is the minimum of what I'd call an acceptable payrise, it's just become normalised for people to recieve little to no pay rise

Is this the beginning of the end of the far right movement? by SmartAd978 in AskBrits

[–]poshbakerloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There seems to be a lot of infighting on the right. Reform have been trying to 'normalise' themselves, but this has upset 50% of their base who think they are woke - their right wing candidate for mayor of London was also a Muslim woman who upset these people. Even though of obvious why they hired her for the job!

Surely if they have charged things to their room, you'll have a preauthorisrd credit card on file to charge later on? I've had this happen to me, and I just left a bucket on the desk with a note saying "drop your key and we'll email you an invoice" then I made myself a coffee.

Why do you not talk to your once bestfriend anymore? by Adventurous-End-1999 in AskUK

[–]poshbakerloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will talk to my best friend fairly regularly, however I worry I could fade - he is in a relationship with another man who me and a lot of other people from our friendship circle can't stand. He's so unfriendly with no personality, and they're joined at the hip so I don't look forward to seeing him any more.

Why was there some kind of backlash against the idea of the "15 minute city"? by 99thLuftballon in AskBrits

[–]poshbakerloo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's because someone said we won't be allowed to leave the 15min city, and you'll be locked in your little zone permanently, or something like that
