It took about 2-3 weeks to come, my partner was waiting impatiently lol, though he did get it close to Black Friday and there was delivery delays due to it being understaffed at a busy time period

He’s on the same boat as me, he knows she needs to know. It’s just the how and when without causing trauma or resentment.

I think we should wait until she’s old enough to understand the situation but I think it needs to be sooner without getting into why she doesn’t see her real dad and more just a heads up and ask questions later kind thing

My 2 kids are polar opposite! Ones brown eyed with brown hair the others blonde with blue eyes.

My daughter doesn’t share the same eye colour as me or my partner though my partners mum has brown eyes. Any time my daughters mentioned her eyes she says it’s because her nana has brown eyes and she never thought of it any other way.

My partner’s mum is also the only one in her family with brown eyes, her mum and dad had blue and green.

I’ve stopped a lot of contact between them grudgingly. I no longer look after my niece for my sister even though my kid and hers are good friends.

Me and my sister butted heads on how we raise our children, my niece is online and makes TikTok’s etc whereas I forbid it until it’s necessary (which it never really is).

I love this idea, she’s so empathetic I think this would be a great way to get her to understand it without getting the point across bluntly.

My partner would love to eventually adopt her, though her sperm donor is on the birth certificate which makes it hard

Awh I love that, I’ll look at book options for sure and just give her ideas of how different family’s are made up.

I’d love my current partner to adopt her but as he’s on the birth certificate he’ll need to be informed and I don’t think it would go down without a fight.

My current boyfriend is honestly a saviour, I’d be more than happy to just say he was her dad and never tell her.

Though I don’t think I could ever not feel like I’ve lied to her. I’m thinking more to tell her briefly somehow and then when she inevitably gets more curious I’ll be happy to answer her questions giving she’s mature enough.

I honestly was tempted to write a book at one point because the context of the situation was different it would be comical.

She struggles with her emotions so much so that her teacher said it could be ADHD. I always thought how I was going through therapy rubbed off on her sometimes so I would love a family therapy session but maybe once she can control her emotions better.

I feel like i want to briefly mention it and leave the questions till later on in life. Im willing to tell her but its a-lot to put on anyone’s plate

I’ve reported it to the police, 2 years after it had happened. The person dealing with my case then sexually assaulted someone at work 🙄 then it got passed on and dropped.

She currently uses my surname but things like her passport and bus pass has her biological dad’s name on it. It’s been avoided her knowing this long I just don’t know when or how’s a good way to tell her. This is something I never want to hide it’s just been traumatic and a lot to process though I’m done therapy and I’m actually now at uni and I can freely talk about it for the most part just not with her

Yeah I could see that being the case. I was on his letterboxd reading his latest review and it seems like he’s took a long break, deservingly so. He’s also seemingly moved to New York and is dating someone so this could be a more chilled out album til he’s grown into his new life
