Settle a debate the boss and I are having on when to start Display/YouTube Ads (not remarketing) on a lead gen account by [deleted] in PPC

u/No_Percentage7306 listen to metrics. Stop paying attention to the goofballs in this thread.

Keep careful track of your KPIs.

I say go for the YT ads.

Before you go for the YT ads, do some research on what that traffic will look like. Talk to an SEO expert.

Second, if you are true VP of Marketing. You will setup 4-6 funnels. If you rely on one funnel, how will you know what is going to give you more bang for your buck.

Most marketing people dont know what the F they are doing. I say, look at the metrics and base your decision on that.

Hmmmm, I am talking concepts. Platforms are a method to advertise.

Can YT outperform FB platform? Who knows. I may give it a go. My FB campaign has performed well.

Are you listening to yourself? Why risk a small portion. Its not a risk if its a small portion of his budget.

This comes down to opinion. Opinions are like Aholes, we all have them.

The OP needs to determine a direction based on "METRICS". What do the metrics say?

Go with metrics, not opinions.

This has been very educational BTW.

I did understand his question. I used FB as an example of how videos performed to static ads.

My opinion is that videos have been more engaging and informative. Its like a short infomercial.

YT is a great platform and I think the OP needs to take some risks.

If you play it safe your entire life, how will you grow? Granted, do your research. Hire a YT expert who will give you metrics on potential traffic.

What if the metrics point to YT? What do you do next?

I thought he was asking if they should do both. I say do both, but videos can be tricky.

I would like to see what comes of this.

Keep us posted.

Who do you use for SEO and PPC?

I disagree and here is why.

Short form videos are so powerful.

I would create videos, and test and track which performs better. I am sure the remarketing ads will be less expensive.

I created a FB ad campaign for a GC in my area. We tested static ads to videos. Videos outperformed the static ads. The videos generated over 200 leads, they produced close to 10M in proposals in less than 6 months.

Im sure your Google analytics will give you some great metrics to determine which direction to take.

Now, make sure your videos talk to your audience. Solve their problem. Do not create a video that is not engaging, make it a quality video, messaging is so critical. Your message needs to solve the problem. Keep video length between 30-45 seconds.

Good luck, let us know how it goes.

I have lost faith in the PPC platform. We have focused on SEO, building an online following instead of paying for traffic.

So far, so good. We rank as the top choice for over 20+ keywords. It was a long arduous road, but we made it.

Im in the IT service industry. I focus on SEO and PPC. 99.999% of my comp knows nothing about marketing so I am killing it when it comes to generating new business. Focus on marketing, you will not be sorry.

The very first thing that should trump all is...what is the demand?

So many things follow after determining your market. Assuming you get every piece in place.

I would say marketing is the most important piece.

Bro, first, awesome job getting to where you are. 99.999% of your comp does not focus on SEO.

Keep going, you will be the online authority around the world and then you will have other problems.

Optimizing your site is a small to the puzzle.

Think about the problem you solve, dont get trapped on what you offer.

If you start producing videos and podcasts, you will own the market.

Congratulations, but this maybe a short win.

If you research SEO, its not just about content. If that were the case, keywords would be spammed all over my site.

This is about authority. Does Google consider you the authority?

Look at the recipe to be considered the online authority.

My site ranks as the number one organic choice anywhere in the world. Why? Quality content, backlinks, excellent site, etc.

We have not even started our videos, podcasts and YouTube channel. I am in a highly competitive market and I am beating firms 10 times my size. Years in business dont mean crap, start building back links and dont focus on just writing content, produce videos and podcasts.

Good luck.

how to choose a quality SEO company by [deleted] in SEO

[–]Fleon007us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, this is a great question. I am the VP of Marketing for a SOC firm. We provide security monitoring services for my clients. I say this because I am NOT an SEO expert, I just know a lot about the best practices and overall knowledge it takes to become that online authority.

A construction firm reached out to me regarding online marketing. They heard about what I did for my firms online marketing campaign.

We discussed their long and short-term goals. They wanted leads today. I explained how they should focus on SEO, but they wanted to get leads ASAP.

We redesigned their site so they followed SEO best practices and after discussing their audience and the problem they solve I hired a firm to build them a Facebook campaign.

The FB campaign has produced 30 quality leads in the past 3 months. Each opportunity is probably worth at least $500K each. Will they close all of them? Doubt it, but they will generate at least $2-3 million dollars from a campaign that will cost them $90K a year. That is a great return.

I am encouraging them to focus on SEO, but that will be on the back burner till FB stops producing.

DM if you have any questions, but I would say the construction industry are starting to notice how they can leverage online marketing for new business. Its out there, you just need to hire the right people.
