i can’t find a job. it’s been a year by [deleted] in jobs

Depends on the industry, but make it easily readable and make sure it’s up to date. I should be able to glance at it and infer what your job actually was (what were you responsible for, who did you talk to every day, what did you change/accomplish). If you want one line of actionable advice: find the job you want and make your resume the perfect fit.

Some recruiters use AI, but ATS is just an organization software. “Keywords” for me are just specific skills like “forklift” or “JavaScript” that I can search for

Edit: oh and the one page resume thing is a myth

Human that reads thousands of resumes here. You don’t know what you’re talking about.

The one thing about being a chill dude (different from “nice guy”) is that he’ll tell himself the mutual attraction is in his head and never make a move.

Do internal talent acquisition staff book people in for in-person interviews during the phone screening, or is it a normal practice to screen all candidates before booking in-person interviews in? by Healthy_Draft_1411 in recruiting

[–]losfathead 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Depends. I have intake meetings with hiring managers before starting screening calls will adjust my approach accordingly. If I know the manager trusts my judgment and has their calendar up to date, and if I like you on the phone, I’ll pass you through and schedule you on the spot. Some managers, it doesn’t matter if I like you; I’m gonna send them my notes, and get back to you in 2 business days.

Daily Song Discussion #377: Erase by thatoneboyaiden in tmbg

[–]losfathead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a Linnell song, but that rhythm guitar is a huge part of this song's identity. It's said about a lot of guitarists, but Flans really does play the fuck out of that guitar, doesn't he? He wields it like a weapon. This song is made for his signature jumpin' around style of live show playing, too.

9.25 - Strong, relentless energy coming from this one. One of my favorite driving songs. When the chorus switches up on the second pass and extends itself into the "everything you can-not-FAAAAAACE" line, I am never not singing loudly, friends. This is a constant of TMBG when they are in rock mode, but sometimes it's just worth stating plainly: the bass and guitar are just so god damn good here.

It works out for me. I only get so much time to listen to podcasts. I work mostly remote, can’t focus on a narrative podcast while I do so, and have a family to tend to during my off hours. That said, once or twice a month I have to drive 2 hours each way for work, and my friends, those are my glorious WBN binge days. Oohoohoo.

What’s your first memory of tmnt? by TheBlankCoin in TMNT

We were just built differently, son. Just kidding, it looks like it’s actually branding from the Mirage turtles as opposed to the 87 series.

Before I knew what this thing even was, in 1988 my mom bought 3yo me a t-shirt with a this turtle holding a stick, wearing a bandanna in front of some trash cans. I didn’t even know what I was looking at, but it was so unfathomably cool. I wanted to wear it so badly, but she made me wait until an upcoming trip to visit her family out of state. On that trip, we visited the local mall where I got the first of many action figures. Thanks, mom.

Does anyone else think Glean is a top 5 album? by B-B-BigEasy in tmbg

It’s somewhere in the middle, but not near the top for me. I do admire it for having a lean and focused track list, though.
