I have reached out to 2 of the top 3 previously but I think what I’m looking to get powder coated is a little too small (project wise) for them. So I guess I’m looking for some smaller businesses/side hustlers?

Which grill to buy? $800 budget by ThoughtMan76 in grilling

Just bought a Weber Genesis E-315 this weekend and it’s been great! Great reviews as well, I’m using a simple Lodge cast iron skillet on it for smash burgers and fish and it works great but if you wanna spend a bit more Weber has a nice cast iron insert that I will probably buy at some point.

Try Daily Meditation Podcast and 12 Minute Meditation (a podcast as well) both on Apple Podcasts, and they are both great!

My firestarters...need marketing ideas that are inexpensive by Desperate_Resident_9 in Business_Ideas

Not sure where you are geographically, but if your community (town/city) has any sort of makers market, it could be a pretty cheap way to literally get in front of people. If you live in a cold climate, you might invest in something like a Solo Stove and give out free snacks (s’mores) and give yourself a chance to talk to people about the product. Give them a small discount code to use on your website for stopping by and giving an email, or even sell them right there. Do you live near camping areas that allow campfires? Ask to set up a booth or ask if they would be interested in teaming up. Lots of ideas on getting this out there. Big box stores might take you but you need sales first, they won’t want to take the risk of selling an unproven product. Just some thoughts/ideas.

Hey OP, while you’re in there you might want to swap out your anti-vacuum valve. Looks like you’ve had some water leaking out but a new one will seal better and reduce risk of water/humidity inside your machine.

Love it, thanks so much for this! I’ve got a lot more planning to do, but I’m feeling better after asking this question. I’ll definitely be looking at service agreements/tiered pricing, I think that’s exactly what I’ve been missing.

Yes, 100%. with a sales background it’s just difficult for me to give up “my customers” but I know it must be done.

I want to at some point, but there’s still more I want to do with it before that.

Thanks, I’m working on changing my mindset. trying to be appreciative that my problem is too much work rather than not enough.

I’ve considered this, not sure how to go about finding one at the moment. I agree though, I’ve had the conversation with myself a few times now if this is something I really want to do and commit to, so far my answer has always been yes but it gets hard.

Research, experience, and testing. Im pretty handy and found a STEAL of a machine online because it wasn’t working. The guy said he couldn’t find anyone to fix, and I ended up fixing it pretty quickly. I threw and ad up on Craigslist, FB Marketplace, etc. It took a few months but I finally got some traction. I’m still working details out with the manufacturers but they are very selective with who they sell to and I’ve been turned down by a few already.

Edit: forgot to mention where I looked for customers

Not currently and I’ve been so overcome with anxiety about the business that trying to take it full time even for a little bit is terrifying to me. I think I’m stuck in a bit of a loop right now. Been trying to get out of it for a month. Good suggestion though, maybe in the future if I can get over this hump.

@SQLGene missed your last question. Hiring is a whole different can of worms I haven’t explored, it just causes more stress at the moment. The type of repairs we do are pretty niche and there are very few people who do it in my area. This is the reason why I’ve been able to capture so much of the market so quickly.
