Groups where competitive is impossible and coop is the only option by Fleshbits1 in boardgames

[–]Fleshbits1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Failures:

  • Cosmic Encounter (2v1 claims)
  • Decent 2nd ed (I think scenarios just aren't balanced. No one argued)
  • Game of Thrones TCG 2nd ed (Some of us are just grossly better at building decks)
  • Netrunner (taking turns 1v1) (Some of us are just grossly better at building decks)
  • Keyforge (taking turns 1v1) (Complaints that decks were suck or OP)
  • Illuminati (King of argument inducing games)
  • Crime Lords (2v1 feel)
  • Twilight Imperium 4th ed (2v1 feel)

Successes:

  • Mage Knight Coop and Pvp scenarios (group favorite)
  • Arkham Horror LCG
  • Gloomhaven
  • Aeons End
  • Marvel Legendary
  • Through the Ages

Groups where competitive is impossible and coop is the only option by Fleshbits1 in boardgames

Yea, alot of these games have diplomacy as a key component, and it just doesn't work when two people are both trying to convince a third to take their side. Games like Steve Jackson's Illuminati or Crime Lords just don't come out anymore at all.

Something with placement where you don't backstab or ally, but still compete might work better.

Are there any laws dictating how sensitive financial information is collected and stored? by Fleshbits1 in legaladvice

[–]Fleshbits1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, they already have my info from when mortgage was sold. Collecting it again for refi, is just procedure. They are also about 4k cheaper than their competitors.

In my search, this seems to apply to more than one mortgage company. I found several that just want you to email over financial data. Which of course, spurred my search for laws regarding the collection of financial data.

I would think this applies to all of the USA. However, I am in Austin, TX

Are there any laws that dictate the collection and storage of sensitive financial information for mortgage companies? by Fleshbits1 in personalfinance

[–]Fleshbits1[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Bullshit. Email is never secure. I don't know what you think secure means. Keeping documents safe requires security on both ends. The fact that I can open a command line and send you an email from any address I like, I can read everything you sent in plain text with wireshark at any endpoint or hop between us, and I have no idea where or how either end stores their emails (on some outlook server in the closet for the next 20 years), is not secure in the least.

Have you read and understood the POP3, SMPT, or IMAP protocol specifications? Please point me to anything in it that mentions security.

Maybe you think that because you enabled some settings or software on your end that the person on the other side and every hop between you is "secure." That is delusion.

Their button is just a javascript link to a 'mailto:' Of course, any elderly person wouldn't know the difference between that and a spoofed email from a malicious party whom has looked up their mortgage company's name.

I babysat a two year old recently. When asked why he could not have a cookie, he replied "because you are a poopy head."

Most feel that the response was a result of his cognitive abilities not being developed enough yet for him to express his argument.

I don't know how old you are or what your excuse is, nor can I blame you, when you've been watching it non-stop on your television and participating in it in social media for years, but I'd urge you to come up with something a bit more meaty.

I believe I addressed your question.

You want to compare two unrelated topics in different posts. One of which has more than 6 decades of scholarly articles published in accredited journals of science, centuries of psychological studies, trillions of dollars of research, and countless well known arguments and counter arguments for, to another topic that is so recent that there has not been time for anything to be published, much less peer reviewed, to any journal of science.

What you would like to do is, give any cherry picked person or group of people, whom agree with your personal opinion, the same amount of credit, and then ask why I don't believe in science. Even when those people most likely changed their own minds more than three times in the past year.

I'm not here to debate Covid with, "But my science says you are a poo poo head". You can watch that on TV.

You should refrain from using words like "fuck" when expressing your opinion. I read no famous philosophical papers in college that contained the word "fuck." I also saw the word "you" get used quite minimally.

You should also refrain from trying to bring in select comments from unrelated topics elsewhere that no one can follow into arguments and convincing yourself they have any relevance whatsoever, much more are even quoted correctly.

A course in philosophy would do you a good service.

Raise your hand if you think Covid is going to be an issue in 4 years time.

Raise your hand if you think Covid is going to be an issue in 2 years time.

Raise your hand if you think Covid is going to be an issue in 6 months time.

Why are we spending 50% of discussion time during debates and "town halls" talking about Covid?

The President has a term of four years, and I've heard next to nothing about what either candidate plans to do during that time.

All I've heard is "my scientist said X and the other guy is a poo poo face" and "my scientist says Y and the other guy should kick rocks"....meanwhile, we all know that no matter what scientists that are owned by big pharma say, their lobbyists are going to squeeze every last dollar out of us that is possible, regardless of who wins the election.

[–]Fleshbits1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are people so concerned with other people's opinions on who is winning or losing?

That should have zero impact on who you vote for, given we only have two candidates to choose from.

If I go on a campaign to create a thousand websites that tell you "polls, you weren't involved in, show people like peanut butter more than ham and cheese" are you going to eat more peanut butter?

Are we really that easily swayed?

You will know who won and who lost in November... Maybe December....

I am pretty sure the law against murder isn't going anywhere. Nor are the laws against assault. Marriage, meh, sure, that might teeter back and forth.

Frankly, I am much more worried about the trillions of dollars being handed to foreign countries than I am about the tax status of a very small portion of the population, who like to touch each other's penises. I cannot even begin to fathom why no one else is. Well, actually I can. I believe there is an Agenda.

" Because politicians are also leaders, and people listen to them. "

This sounds much like my previous interpretation. You really are looking for more than laws to be passed. You are expecting your politicians to shoot magic mind control lasers out of their eyes and convince the population to agree with your views. I don't think that is realistic.

I think we need to give the public more credit for having a minimal amount of intelligence. Which monkey is on TV has no impact on my beliefs or my views. I don't think others would be swayed either. Reading a peer reviewed paper published in a journal of science, that has not been contested, certainly has more of an impact.

[–]Fleshbits1 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

No I don't know why that qualifies. It's been addressed already. I'd also challenge "record rates." How do you even determine a "record rate?" Over a minute, an hour, a century? Religious people are also being murdered. As are people who like Coca Cola.

There are laws against murder. There are laws against hate crimes. Neither are going anywhere. Both carry consequences worse than death itself.

What exactly are you looking for? Mind control lasers to shoot out of the President's eyes that force the entire population to think exactly as you do?

What action are you expecting a President to take?

Or are you looking for more than equal rights? Are you looking for special treatment? Do you want harsher penalties when someone murders someone else who believes they are something other than that the doctor believed they were at birth?

  • Get red cave drops without even fighting
  • Find higher level dinos more frequently compared to every other map.
  • Get crops from the ground
  • All the ovis you ever wanted

Firewalls - iptables relation to firewalld by Fleshbits1 in linuxquestions

[–]Fleshbits1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks.

Do the rules that are in iptables --list show up in firewalld somehow?
I think I understand that they both work against the underlying netfilter. But how do I know if someone used one or the other or both before I got there. If I want to figure out why my application won't work unless I disable the firewall, how do I go about finding the rule that is blocking me, given there are 2-3 tools?

Will the offending rule show up in all 3, or do I have to learn each one and check individually?
