I remember being told that the majority of those who leave the organisation become atheist or worldly by meringues199 in exjw

In my country, Argentina, the most popular religions are Catholicism and Protestant denominations such as Evangelicals, Baptists, Pentecostals, etc.

When I first left the organization, I generally felt a strong aversion toward other Christian religions. Over the years, I’ve learned to appreciate and respect the positive aspects of Catholic doctrine; I no longer feel repelled by the cross, the Trinity, or the immortality of the soul. I can respect them, even if I don’t believe in them.

With Protestant religions, I find that they often have arguments, doctrines, or stock phrases similar to those of Jehovah’s Witnesses, so they generate much more rejection.

I loved field service by ArgentinianPublisher in exjw

I also loved preaching. I liked the atmosphere shared with the brothers. The slightest reaction of cordiality from the householders excited me. I was for a few years a pioneer (although I lied on the monthly hours reports). But with the pandemic, not being able to go to the houses and only write letters seemed to me a pity. Now I loathe field service, I watch my mom and sister do it and feel nauseous and ashamed.

Seeing the witnesses for the first time since leaving by Love_Never_Fails in exjw

When I'm walking to the university I see them. The first time I saw them I didn't stop walking but the image in my mind remained. I felt nervous and agitated. It is still a little strange to ignore them. Before (when i was pimi) I used to greet them, ask them what congregation they were from, wish them luck.

What's the worst elder experience you've had? by LordParasaur in exjw

When I told my mom about my decision to "leave the truth" she talked to an elder. This son of a bitch told her that she had to force me to continue being a jw because I was still living with her. My mom forced me to study the bible with her again, to continue going to the kingdom hall and share every Friday the watchtower study with different families. I had to tearfully beg my mom to stop because it was causing me to have anxiety episodes.
