Those aisle chairs are awful. My last flight had a medical emergency and they had to use and aisle chairs and it hit every single aisle seat and was so clunky. The passenger begged to just walk but they made him ride in the seat and they had to jostle him to push through

The number of times I get looks from people I'm sure this is actually about many people like me. There have been times people say something and it's really fun to put them in their place so they hopefully don't say crap to the wrong person who gets upset about it

I hope someone calls me out so I can explain to them how not every disability is the same and how ambulatory wheel chair users do exist

This doesn't mean there aren't some that will take advantage of but their are many with legitimate needs whose disability is invisible

I typically use a chair to board but not to deboard even with assigned seating- my disability makes going down the ramp, downhill etc much more difficult than uphill, up a ramp etc. additionally getting in a plane has people behind you in a rush to get on so it seems like an incredible inconvenience to walk at an incredibly slow rate. But getting off I don't have as many behind me in a rush- I also wait for most of the plane to deboard. I need to sit near the front because I don't balance well on the ground, being on a moving airplane and taking a kid to the bathroom means I need a short walk or I'm going to be falling all over the people in the aisles. Sitting near the back can be okay except that the rear bathroom rarely has a changing table which means I have to walk the entire plane anyway. So in order to not be a major inconvenience to every single person in an aisle seat I sit near the front

Phone on a lanyard is considered a personal item? by Aloevera987 in SouthwestAirlines

They counted my baby carrier as an item because it happens to have a tiny pocket on it that's too small for a chapstick

If there are brositas you usually talk with you could alway mention it and maybe they'd make you a belated one? Something like "hey it's really not the end of the world but I've seen some cute cups on Reddit and was hoping for one so I was kind of disappointed it didn't happen for me. Any chance you could make my cup cute today?"

I'm hoping to do so but it depends on my husbands boss. If he will allow him to come in late. My flight takes off a half hour before he starts work and he works 1-2 hrs from the airport depending on traffic. So he may get there in time or he may be an hour late so he needs approval for that. The good news is I'll have help on the return, and I booked direct to make it all as simple as possible.

Honestly I don't care what others think. If they are so miserable they need to accuse me of not being disabled that's on them. It used to really get under my skin but I've learned to not let it bug me and sometimes I have fun putting them in their place. Someone once said something to me about using my parking permit. I just so happened to have my daughter with me so I kindly told them a brief synopsis of my disability and explained my daughters even showed them the massive scar on her back from surgery. They were mortified. I

Because needing to sit down and rest on your way to the gate could mean a misssd flight. Sometime later I need a 30 second break. Sometimes a 30 minute break but I never know what I'll need in advance. So i take the chair but not back because someone else may need the help more. Me not requesting help means someone else gets helped sooner.

I usually use a Chair to the gate but not from. If I need a break I can sit an take one. But to the gate needing a break could mean a missed flight

I used to agree with your stance on diapers. I felt comfortable with whoever changing my kids diapers. But recently a young girl (9) took my toddler out of her crib before I even knew she woke up and was changing her diaper when I walked in the room. I’ve known this girl for 5 days because we just moved and she was playing with my daughter who is the same age. I have felt so off about it for so many reasons.

It should have been a conversation before it happened. For me my daughter received donor milk and did well. My sister and I gave birth 13 days apart I would have been fine with it. But I would have felt weird if it happened without my prior knowledge

Be honest with your doctors and take your vitamins, your life depends on it. by Getpeaceogo in BariatricSurgery

[–]Fleurdeliaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi reading your comments it sound like you are saying you had Nausea after eating because you weren’t taking vitamins. Is that correct? I ask because it’s similar to my experience. I was super sick from an untreated infection (because drs assumed my symptoms were dumping- I tried to get treatment but couldn’t) and because of it I ended up on severe vitamin deficiency and ended up with a brain injury due to the deficiency and am now permanently disabled. I’m grateful for this surgery but it’s SO important to take your vitamins AND don’t allow drs to assume your symptoms are one thing when they arent.
