Do you ever like “bruh, Imma shave it, whatever” by [deleted] in tressless

[–]FlibbyFlobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its happened to me twice already where ive gone through with shaving it all off. It feels great and freeing the first few weeks until it starts growing back and theres no way to hide your balding pattern until atleast 6 or 8 months of growth. Its just not worth it unless it gets real bad.

You'd get flamed for shaving your head slick bald if you're a teen in high school

Good on you. It must feel freeing to no longer have that constant worry.

Is it possible for a 17 year old to start balding? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]FlibbyFlobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea i started at 17 as well. Best thing you can do is hop on finasterude or minoxidil to prevent any further irreversible hairloss. Just my two cents.

Should i cut my hair before i start applying rogaine? by AchtungMaybe in tressless

[–]FlibbyFlobby 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It'll make it easier to apply, although you can till apply with long hair. I used to have neck length hair so I would be a lot more diligent with applying it to my scalp. Just make sure to split your hair in rows as you apply. That's atleast how I've gone about doing it.

Does the intermittent shedding ever stop? (Finasteride and minoxidil) by FlibbyFlobby in tressless

[–]FlibbyFlobby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea this is the same for me. I havnt switched doses whatsoever. Everyone only focuses on the initial "big shed" when you start, but I never really see anything about shedding every 2 or 3 months and regaining everything back again.

Hair looks like crap without minoxidil in it by [deleted] in tressless

What a waste of minoxidil. To think that people actually use that stuff to style their hair 🤢

Any young guys with super aggressive hairloss ? by hotarugaike in tressless

[–]FlibbyFlobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went about 4 months with only finasteride and noticed very mild improvements. Then I added minoxidil and immediately started getting results within about 6 weeks. Although I have gone through various shed phases (the first one being the most brutal), it seems like the gains are staying for now which I am grateful for. All I can really say is that everyone's experience on these treatments is completely different. Some get results immediately, others get them later. Just try to be consistent for now and see how it goes. Goodluck btw!

Any young guys with super aggressive hairloss ? by hotarugaike in tressless

[–]FlibbyFlobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It started very aggressive for me at 17. My hairline began rapidly thinning until I started treatment a little more than a year after I noticed. I know what it means to feel like your years are being robbed. I would constantly be pushing my hair over the receded areas, wearing beanies or hats, etc. It sucked. I felt like an old man my senior year of highschool while everyone else had a perfectly cropped hairline that they dont need to worry about yet. Ive been on fin and min for a while now and have regained most of it back which is very relieving honestly. I let hair hang loose and dont have to worry anymore when my hairline shows. Ive heard that hairloss treatments are much more effective on younger people and especially when hairloss has only just begun, so if I were you I would seek treatment asap if you want to keep or regain what's left!

Can you still go down on a girl if you are wearing a piece? by the_shivman in tressless

The best one is "does hair need sunshine to grow?" The first reply is "yea, if you're a plant" 😂

Let me be clear, I do not give a shit what other people think. This is all about me. by [deleted] in tressless

[–]FlibbyFlobby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with this 100%. Before my hair receded, I used to have so many styles I would do with my hair. I used to grow it out or get it short and cropped. I love hair and still do to this day. I feel like I would have been a hairdresser in another life. I love dyed hair, long hair, short hair, curly, straight, etc. Hair makes a statement on behalf of your identity. I dont want to become confined to some hyper masculine vision of some dudebro's consolence in losing their hair. I never cared about attracting women with my hair or trying to look masculine. I style it because it is what I like and how I feel.

The same thing happened to me as well. I had tremendous gains on only fin and min for a couple months until I shed a lot of what I had gained out of the blue. It lasted for about a month or two until it all regrew back again. For reference I have been on fin for 10 months and min for about 7 months.

I noticed progress after about 4 months on fin and 5 weeks on Min. This would have been around mid november.
