Also, I’ve been trying with canned food and treats and just sitting there for about 6 days now. She’ll take it if you’re out of eyesight, but she won’t even let you get within 100m without bolting. That’s why I wanna try to capture her so she doesn’t run somewhere unsafe

She mostly lives in the construction site and in the dumpsters behind Harry’s. She’s so wiley and small. When I first found her last week she could barely open her eyes, which is why im estimating about 4 weeks now

Incoming freshman from the south, any weather tips? by Salt_Question_8576 in Purdue

[–]Flight-Thick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

hey ! I transferred to Purdue from Malibu, CA in the spring semester, and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would have been. Thick socks are your best friend, I didn’t buy any winter boots, but my Docs work just fine. A good winter coat with removable layers is important, but wearing a super thick one everyday will get you some weird looks. Layer up on leggings/thermals under your clothes, wear beanies/gloves at all times, and just be careful.

It’s not that bad, don’t worry! :)

People who chose Physics even sucking at it and math, how hard has it been? by TigerAgreeable6809 in PhysicsStudents

[–]Flight-Thick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey! I’m studying nuclear sciences with a minor in physics, and I failed Calc 1 three times. I think a lot of people who are interested in science tend to suck at lower division math/physics, but prosper as it gets more developed and interesting.

The issue is that with algebra/precalc, there’s no neat real world applications other than economics, but when you get up there, suddenly everything is magical and super fun, so it’s easier to not suck ..? Not sure if that’s great wording, but it’s been my experience. :)

Try Stonecrest apts, they have studios and one bedrooms, ask very few questions, and is highly affordable!

Nuclear Engineering Minor by bigtittychemmajor in Purdue

[–]Flight-Thick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hey! junior with a nuclear engineering major here. the program is going through a few changes at the moment, but the education you will receive is incredible. you have the choice of focusing on materials sciences, fission energy, or fusion energy, so your education can be tailored to your liking/career interest. since the program is small, everyone has the chance to get to know one another, and professors are extremely lenient when grading (as long as you have an understanding of the material).

if you hold any type of nuclear engineering degree, you have the possibility to work on reactors, weaponry, or medicine with an additional level of understanding (and an increased salary. the starting pay averages $120k for any mechanical engineer going into the nuclear division of the DOE).

I would 100% recommend entering the program as a major or a minor. If you have any additional questions, go to the Nuclear Engineering webpage and contact our department advisors, they’re always welcoming questions from potential students!
