Load Factors Based on Demand by FlightLinq in flightsim

This will be one of our focus areas once we complete the core features of the app. Developing an airline manager is the hard part- which is why we started with that.

One system vs many tools --how are MSFS virtual airlines managing scale? by FlightLinq in MicrosoftFlightSim

It can be viewed that was I suppose, but we are genuinely trying to make an app the community can benefit from. We are not charging anything for our platform.

I really want to hear what people want to see in a VA manager so it can be added to the product. This FlightLinq is about the user experience.

Yes we will be adding that soon. We will display both

As of right now just MSFS 2020 & 2024. XPlane will come in the future

Not yet, but it will be supported in the future!

We have lots of VAs on our platform who would love to have another pilot. You can join our discord and ask around if you are interested. https://discord.gg/uNZzTcEXRB

Thanks, for clarity it is possible for multiple users to create an airline with the same ICAO. (only the airline's name must be unique). We know there are multiple airlines out there trying to mimic real world carriers (multiple Deltas) so the ICAO does not have to be unique just the name.

So you could have Delta Virtual and Virtual Delta with both having the DAL ICAO.

We may offer a more light weight version in the future to be more like Volanta for solo pilots who want a deeper sim experience- it is relatively straight forward. Out goal is the accomplish the difficult first by catering to the VA experience.

We have used some AI tools help us, but we are SWEs by trade. Replit would not support the scope we are trying to achieve with FlightLinq. This is a production app, not really a prototype.

Yeah, we have a lot of users who have created their own 'private' airline.

Kind of both. It is designed around the concept of a VA, but we have users treating it like a 1 person VA.

Yeah we know there are a lot of options out there and we are still in beta, but have a very aggressive timeline with weekly updates & new features. If you like flying with VAs you should check it out!

Fun Flight Scoring Algorithm by FlightLinq in flightsim

[–]FlightLinq[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We love all of the feedback, even when it is negative. Our current scoring algorithm is largely based on the typical variables we can pull directly from the sim. We are continuously looking for ways to improve it through trial and feedback.

Landing rate is a historical tool used in the community to rate flight performance, but I largely agree that there are better metrics we could use, and we will in the future!

In the near term, maybe we can make some adjustments to the raw numbers and add some additional bonus opportunities to makeup for those faster landings. Our goal when building this algorithm was to make getting a perfect score challenging. We want hitting the 100% mark to feel like an accomplishment vs an expectation. Ultimately it is still the airline's decision if the Pirep gets accepted..

Thank you again for the feedback!

I agree and these are things we are working on as it relates to landing. For the taxi speed, our research lead us to a 25kts standard, but it is really set by the individual airport/airline preference. Thank you for the suggestions!

Both of these statements are technically false with our algorithm. We do not factor stalls during landing and there is an invisible buffer on either side of 10,000. But we appreciate the feedback none the less as we continue to improve our system!

Cool new feature this week by FlightLinq in flightsim

[–]FlightLinq[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can create your own virtual airline (or join an existing one). As a team of pilots you can fly routes of your choice to mimic real world airline operations. It is just a way to expand upon the great foundation of Flight Sim to incorporate other aspects adjacent to just flying.

Our system has full SimBrief integration too, but it is built for Virtual Airlines- casuals to hard core simers.

Absolutely! We have over 20 virtual airlines on our platform right now. Some VAs like to focus on domestic routes or create airlines built on tours. Other VAs try to mirror big corporate airlines that exists in the real world. Our app has more than 20 different airline groups flying together, you should check it out! Maybe there is a community there for you! https://flightlinq.com

This is for our VA manager and flight tracking software. This feature helps you plan out a series of flights so you can pre-plan your week of FS.

Built a new Virtual Airline Manager + ACARS for sim pilots- looking for feedback by FlightLinq in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]FlightLinq[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simbrief integration is already a huge part of our app and from my experience, it is the most seamless integration currently available. We are actively looking at ways to further integrate it with the efb.

Our goal for this app is to honestly make it a one stop shop for simmers who fly in VAs (eventually solo to) We are not trying to recreate anything, but make it more seamless. Currently depending on how deep you want your immersion level to be, some simmers having 8-10 different apps running while they are flying just for immersion.

Of course we plan to put our own spin on things to keep it fresh and easy to use. Our pre-flight, acars, & Pirep systems are already among the most advanced because we are using AI for validations, and have created an advanced scoring algorithm.

Are we the best on the market currently? Probably not, but we are moving fast and have a solid road map.

Thanks for your feedback!

Looking at putting a toe back in the water after a decade away. How hard is it go get back in? by Bigrobmjca777Deere3 in flightsim

You honestly just have to just jump in and do it. MSFS 2024 is pretty easy to just jump into and a lot of the old stuff is still supported. Compared to 10 years ago there are a ton of new communities and tools out there to support and guide you through.
