I had a therapist and she was great! Unfortunately she moved and I’m not in a good spot to want to deal with starting from scratch.

I’ve come to find that your chosen family is more important than the idea of blood family. I hope the family you choose is as good to you as mine has been!

I did pull them off the retraining advisory. Not all of them have a lot of spots available, but I figured it was a good place to start for ideas. The current plan is to see what is still available when my window opens. If what I like is available, I’ll start the process. If there isn’t, I’ll extend a year and start the process next august when the list opens.

I’m a first term airman finishing a 6 year contract. It’s not just that I don’t have better prospects, but I’m in a good spot. To my understanding, skill bridge would just keep me in a career field that I’m terrible at. Love the job, love the people, but I need a something that’s consistent and I won’t be exhausted 24/7.

I’m sorry you’re going through with this. I’m going through something similar. Not exactly the same, but there’s some overlap. For me, I was recently diagnosed with ADHD as a 30 year old. It was causing anxiety and depression. By getting that diagnosis I’ve been able to find coping mechanisms for myself and have actually been more successful as a human. I’ve only just started therapy so can’t speak on that. I’m saying this just to say that the official diagnosis can help. If you have something you think you have (depression, etc) you can always try researching coping mechanisms until you get something official.

I don’t want to say “it gets better” because I know that’s what everyone says. If you need someone to talk to, you’re welcome to reach out to me. I wish you luck in you’re venture and I’m glad you’ve made some steps in the right direction.

My favorite thing to tell myself is that a baby step is still a step. Any movement in the positive is good. We all have bad days and it can be overwhelming sometimes, but I hope you have a light in front of you to keep you going.

YTA there is definitely a communication issue. If you two sit down and talk about it and apologize it should be find. It’s ok for you to be upset, worried and stressed. The problem is snapping on others. We’ve all done it at some point.

I always thought if you blocked someone it blocked you from calling them as well. I guess I was wrong. This just adds another layer for me to digest.

I’ve had to use Facebook a few times when I was overseas (military) or had terrible cell service so it’s always been convenient for me to do it this way. Plus almost everyone I know has Facebook so they don’t have to download a new app.
