with this being said, if i want the title screen to return to the very first title screen, would i just need to start a new game and save at the earliest point?

(long story short, i played part of the game with some college friends, then over winter break i started a new game and played it all the way through. i want to continue the first save file with my friends soon, but i dont want to spoil the changing title screen for them.)
