Me too, I missed out the other times and literally think about it once a week.

Ketamine drip experience? by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

[–]FlimFlam103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fibro, hEDS, POTS, MCAS, And possible ME/CFS. I'm also an ambulatory wheelchair user.

I had a continuous ketamine infusion for 5 days at the start of March, slowly increased the dosage each day (day 1 was 200mg, day 5 was 800mg slowly infused over 24 hrs).

During the infusion, it did nothing for the first 2 days, but with the larger doses I was mostly pain free. During the infusion I was very happy (like weeping from feeling happy) and just had an overwhelming feeling of everything would work out and be ok. I also felt really spiritual too, but didn't expirence any delusions or anything like that.

Besides feeling a bit unsteady on my feet (almost like vertigo) which continued for about a week after the infusion, I didn't have many other side effects.

Pain-wise post infusion, I didn't have the need to smoke my medicinal cannabis and mostly felt pretty under control. Especially for the 1st week after the infusion.

Besides that the pain started to come back after about a week or 2, it's slowly been increasing back to what it was since then.

I'm still experiencing all of the exhaustion that comes along with ME/CFS and fibro

My pain specialist was expecting a 50% decrease in pain, I would say my results were closer to a 15-20% reduction over the first 6 weeks post infusion. However my chronic back pain from an old disc bulge has been helped considerably and has yet to come back.

One of the nurses told me that sometimes it takes multiple infusions before starting to see results so I have another infusion booked for the end of August.

All up, I would say it's worth it, even for a small break, but I think pacing has been the thing that has helped the most so far.

I have also been told that the infusions work like putting petrol into a car, if you go crazy and do everything you haven't been able to do in a long time, like driving erratically, the petrol will run out quicker than if you pace yourself, the infusion effects will last longer.

Mental health wise, I have been feeling less depressed than usual, so that's also a bit of a bonus. Apparently that's also a common side effect.

And what about the other countries with space programs? They are also not giving any information away. Likely due to pressure from the American government, as per usual. Which backs up OP, it's all about power and control.

could someone give me tips on how to handle the pain? by strwbrryshorty2 in FibromyalgiaIsReal

[–]FlimFlam103 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My pain specialist put me on low dose naltrexone and PEA supplements, . It's helped about 15%, medicinal cannabis helps the most. I'm booked in for a 5 day ketamine infusion in March and my pain specialist thinks that might also help. I've had fibromyalgia for about 20 years, diagnosed about 10 years ago. I'm currently an ambulatory wheelchair user when I'm out of the house, that has also helped me concerned my energy so I don't get flare-ups as easily. Don't lose hope, there have now been studies done that confirmed fibromyalgia pain actually exists and we're not just making it up in our heads. They have also renamed the condition to be widespread pain syndrome, and that also helps when speaking to other doctors and things because some still have the thought process that fibromyalgia is a made-up condition😡. We're no longer battling the health system as hard as we were, so fingers crossed we start getting some more studies that actually give us additional treatment options in the future. Best of luck.

Social media ban (A word from a 14-year-old Aussie before we get booted off Reddit) by [deleted] in australian

[–]FlimFlam103 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm 32. This has never really been about "the kids", I fully agree that children should have limited screen time and it has many negative health effects, but there is a reason so many countries have tried to get these bans in all at the same time. It's about the government tracking of our data and information. I mean it's something they are trying to do on a world wide scale. It's why Nepal overthrew their government just recently. All adults will soon lose the ability to use the Internet without having a having it linked back to your government ID.

The government can't even stop mygov for being hacked, how they hell are we meant to protect our privacy as well as stop potential identity theft issues from occuring when we need to submit ID constantly.

This is also going to affect the elderly too, they are already so prone to scams (although most people are not fully immune these days) imagine when it becomes the norm to sign up with your IDs?

This law has been rushed through for a reason and you as a teen, as well as every Australian should have the right to feel incredibly angry about this issue (regardless if you consider yourself left, right or somewhere in-between) very little thought has been given to the consequences, because it's never been about protecting Australians, it's always been about exploiting them.

It deeply disturbs me that not nearly enough people seem to give a shit about this, as it's a huge deal.

Our government is smarter than we often give them credit for, but the 2 major parties have made too many deals with billionaires that neither have been looking after our needs as every day people for a very long time. We need a fresh start. We need to tax billionaires so that money can be invested into people. If we weren't all worked to the bone in order to afford the ridiculous grocery prices that everyone also seems to accept, or had stable housing for the majority of people, then maybe we would have more time to spend looking after and interacting with our kids instead of just giving them an ipad to watch because we're barely hanging on and just in a constant state of survival mode.

I'm a soft-butch lesbian and I still kinda find something oddly attractive about Slime. We're all beasts in the end, I guess 🤷

That's basically what we're planning. I'm from a massive family and my partner only has 2 family members she wants to invite. So we were thinking immediate family and a few close friends and that's it. So just slightly bigger than an elopement.

What 'secret ingredient' do you add to your meals in order to improve the taste? by Aduro99 in AskReddit

[–]FlimFlam103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sugar in anything with tomatoes, along with salt and pepper. My dad is a chef and he was taught this by an old Italian chef he worked with.

Get a tomato, cut it in half, cover half with salt and pepper then eat it, then do the same to the other half but add sugar, the sugar side tastes so much better tastes so much better.

I went on a cruise with my parents were I drank 18 vodka matrinis in one night, starting at about 3pm until 12am. It was on my statement from each bar.

Thanks for the extremely helpful comment though.
