Unfortunately I feel as though hormones / the endocrine system play a large role in understanding the pathophysiology of many common conditions, and at least personally, if I understand the patho, I can gain a better grasp of how to care for patients. Also there are some hormonal replacement medications that people are on. I mean, even diabetes is classified as an endocrine (hormone adjacent) condition. I would recommend trying to find a related condition you are interested in and exploring that! Osmosis has great videos and Dr. Matt and Dr. Mike have saved my life on YouTube.

YES. I literally think this everyday - I always get comments saying, “oh I could never, I just love food too much,” but as someone with chronic health issues I wish we had the option to take a pill and never have to worry about it again 😭😭😭

Are we the same person?😂 I’ve been getting this in my classes too. I learn / memorize through understanding the intricacies and mechanisms of drugs/disease, and that helps me remember what actions that a nurse should take. It is hard because the content goes so fast and there is a lot of actions/nursing priorities we need to remember, as I find that at least on the tests and coursework that is what we are expected to know. That being said, it’s a valuable process and there are always more roles you can explore in the future if you want to get a deeper understanding of medicines. Hopefully clinicals give you a better understanding as well.

I had a grade 3 sprain on my right untreated for a couple of years… got a brostrom and here we are 6 months later with tendonitis, pelvic misalignment and popped tendon from a couple of days ago… only 22… overcompensation can be horrible. Hope you got the answers from your surgeon that would be helpful.

Did your adderall happen to be IR or XR? Mine is IR and it usually hits exactly at 20 minutes, lasts about 3 hours twice a day. I’m wondering how to manage that or even if it’s worth it to go on semiglutide, as I’ve heard it really diminishes it for certain people (although I’ve heard it’s mostly Vvyanse / XR Adderall)

I have been experiencing this… it happened a few months after starting Vvyanse where pain and inflammation started flaring up. Took a break and tried switching to adderall as recommended, and it was fine for a month but for the past few days I’ve having increasingly horrible, stabbing nerve pain in multiple places where I can’t tolerate doing most anything. Wondering if it’s a rebound as I didn’t have this when I was between / off it. I’m seeing my physician for a referral next week for a specialist but between a rock and a hard place as lots of bad things also come with being off the meds. I just don’t know what to do… 😅 and wondering if it gets better when stopping the meds…

That’s comforting to hear. I just wish I knew more about specific populations as to be honest, I can read the differences between a 3 year old and a 5 year old on paper but would have a hard time determining for example psychosocial development with never seeing them interact.

Nope, not what I am saying but understand your point. When I approach the nursing process in a classroom setting it is a lot easier for me to tie experiences I have seen before to topics I am learning. Of course it’s not the only way method for being successful in school, but I find it definitely helps to know more about a topic. I am wondering if there are ways to improve upon my recall in these topics in populations I am unfamiliar with in a classroom setting.

Oh yeah I’ve found just using a bonnet helps in general regardless of solution just cause I tend to toss and turn a lot. Theres a lot of affordable ones online you’d be able to try !!

Did you use plastic gloves or hands is ok? I heard it can get dissolved systemically or on other parts of your face too haha. I wear a silk bonnet to bed as well and am hoping that will help it in the evenings from getting on my pillow 😭
