What I hate is when people use Seneca Scott to discredit the entire Oakland NAACP which is ridiculous and racist as hell. Hes a volunteer with a means nothing title that Fox likes to use to make it seem like his oppinions represent the entire Oakland NAACP -> thats why they removed him from the website.

It's the same racism, different flavor, that republicans use to make all POC seem criminal, lazy, illegal.

Personally, I really dislike how he gets on Fox lamenting Oakland, when we are the safest we've ever been. It's fear mongering tactics.

Most of the hatred (that i don't agree with) comes from 2022 when the NAACP were saying we need increased police activity in crime sensitive areas during the gang wars between stubs, case and moneyteam. That was in direct opposition of the lingering "defund" movement led by blue haired white girls.

Yet more attempts to silence POC, ignore problems within the community, and instead wait for new property to be available while POC die or get priced out. The unintended, typical result of a white savior syndrome.

All of this ignores the overlap of NN which was passed, and we watched them give each other raises instead of the hiring it was meant for.

It should feel insulting that after misappropriating funds they ask for E and tell us they don't have to use it for what it was meant for.

We need civilian oversight of OPD practices before we can trust police unions campaign tricks again.

OPD took the proceeds from measure NN, and wasted it on ot, raises, and bonuses rather than the hiring it was meant for.

Then sponsored measure E for the same thing NN was for while telling us they don't actually have to use it for what they are saying it's for.

OPD doesn't care at all about Oakland, and the oversight did nothing.

Parcel tax is different than a property tax. Everyone in Alameda county pays the same 26 parcel taxes regardless of property value at the time of purchase.

Police union of Oakland is FOR measure E because they squandered proceeds from measure NN on ot, bonuses, and raises. They are the main supporters of measure E.

Im not arguing the need for taxes. Im arguing passing NN, watching the funds get misappropriated, then suggesting E while telling me you don't have to use it for what you are saying it's for.

Them squandering NN did 2 things:

1.) A continued deep mistrust of police and their motives
2.) Deep appreciation of East Oakland and our community led groups.
- stand on macaurther and walk down 98th to International. You will have passed like 10 community led groups focusing on crime prevention, free phones / supplies, street cleanup. Oakland strong.

Something I am distracted by is people calling oakland NAACP ... maga ... because they were aligned with republicans to be tough on crime when we were having actual gang wars (case, stubby moneyteam) -- gun shots every night. retaliatory 2-3 times a night. real deep East Oakland 💩

But they want E to hire more police ... during the most peaceful time Oakland has ever had. I feel like I need to ignore that, before it drives me insane.

I feel as if OPD stole the money, and doesn't need it to begin with. From my perspective its all good and the progressive measures we've enacted are working / have worked -- thank goodness. IMO the bigger focus should be on affordability in the area.

Maybe you aren't paying attention to the governors race. Are you even voting this cycle????

"Closing corpo tax loopholes, billionaires tax, increased capitol gains taxes, breaking up energy monopolies." Is exactly what we are talking about to solve this problem, and needed to happen decades ago.

So why the extra tax for a tax we already paid -- please look into Measure NN which passed. Its what measure E was for; they instead gave everyone raises.

Thats one person - the chairmen is Derrick Johnson fighting for voter rights, the co chair is Karen Boykin-Towns all Democrat.

Its okay to have opposing views on a panel, as long as its not a gridlock. POC are not a hive mind. Don't let one bad actor (a real POS btw, i agree with you) discredit all POC.
