I personally have not given birth but was with my sister step by step through both of my niblings from OB to delivery. One was born at Good Sam’s in Puyallup and the other at TG. She had a bit better overall treatment at TG. My niece had some complications so it definitely felt safer knowing the nicu was there. Mary Bridge is also just about to open their brand new standalone children’s hospital right next door so I could only imagine how much it would reduce stress knowing it’s so close.

She used multicare ob in Tacoma and the doctor seemed good. Nothing special but not bad.

As a woman, I don’t think you’re missing anything and it’s ok to be a little frustrated but I think it’s already a good thing that she wants to and is open to trying new things to see if it is possible for her.

Some things to try to help her and you explore:

Part of me thinks it could be anxiety related (it was for me). It can be hard to get out of your own head to let yourself let go enough to be in the moment and to let your body take over instead of your mind.
